That does not appear to be a valid model number. I would just refer to my owner's manual if I were you.

You will have to resort to your owner's manual. Every Range is different. If you don't have the owner's manual, check with the manufacturer online.

Dryer won't start

Obvious stuff: Check main power source. Is the dryer plugged in? Do other electrical things work when plugged in to the outlet? If not, check fuses or circuit breakers. If good, is the timer/cycle control out of the "Off" position? Try several different settings.

Door check: Is the door safety switch closing? If it is or if you don't know if it is, and if you can get to the switch, you can take the wires off the switch and connect them together with a jumper wire ( unplug the machine before you do this!). With the wires clear of any metal, plug the machine back in, then press the start switch (you can leave the door open). If the machine starts, the door switch is defective.

Sound check: Do you hear a motor running when you press the Start button? Listen carefully; electric motors are very quiet. If the motor is running, your drum belt is probably broken or has come off the idler pulley. If you can take the front (sometimes the back) off the machine, this is an easy fix. Just put the belt back on the pulleys and around the tumbler drum, Note: there is a reason the belt came off if it's not broken. Look for loose or damaged pulleys or springs, including on the motor.
Do you hear a hum without the motor running? If so it indicates wearing of the motor bearings, brushes or the stator. Brushes can usually be replaced easily, but other motor problems require professional repair or replacement.

Smell check: Any unusual odors when you try to start the machine? A hot rubber smell means belt trouble. Check the belt as above. An electrical burning smell means motor or other electrical failure. Call a repair man unless you know what you are doing.

Electrical check: If you can read an electrical schematic (usually on a sticker inside the dryer cabinet or in the owner's manual) and you can use a multimeter, check continuity in the timer/cycle control, relays and switches. If you don;t understand electricity, don't mess with it! It can kill you, especially if your dryer power is 220VAC.

WE have a Maytag Neptune TL and it is stuck in the wash mode... as though the timer does not register to move on to rinse.

Katie,

I'm and owner that knows the machine very well. If you are someone has some basic skills you can repair the machine.

It will come down to how much down time you can tolerate.

What I think is the issue is that the Upper One-Way bearing is seized and when the machine enters into spin cycle of the selected wash cycle the washer can't spin the wash basket. The Control Board tries to enter the spin cycle over and over again. There is no software routine in the Control Board to sense this and the machine keeps trying execute the spin cycle of that wash cycle......Timer never counts down.....

Place that wash load in a Spin Only cycle. If my diagnosis is correct then the machine will do the same thing never count down on the LED display in the Spin Only cycle.

All these machine are ready for a Tub Seal replacement and I can direct most owners thru the process. The cost is in the area of $60 for Tub Seal, ****** O-Ring and Outer Tub bearings. If you need to replace the Clutch Pulley around $80 additional. If you are the original owner I'm sure you have been thru that.

Here is a link to replacing the Tub Seal and Outer Tub bearings. See if this is a direction you want to go. FAV6800A/FAV9800A Outer Tub bearing replacement

Here is a link to what I believe is your issue.........it just took me a long time to extract info from the owner on the failure. [FIXED] Maytag Neptune, Timer Problem

Maybe a FIXYA tech can jump in and add what they think might be the issue and a troubleshooting/repair path to follow.

You can make the machine last for a long time............way beyond the 3.5 yr. to 6 yr. point of most failures.........but each owner has to decide their course of action.

I go by dh1200s on most washer DIY forums including this forum.

Installed new T104 timer 3 mos. ago. Bldg. owner says the dial "hangs up" on pins--has to use manual on/off. Wiring is correct.

1) The clock motor might be bad if trippers hang up on pins
2) The timer might be exposed to dirt dust and moisture, in which case the T-104R raintight might be better
3) The tripper pins rotate around until they contact the tripper lever >> the pins push the lever >> new Intermatic timers have a bit of white grease on the lever where trippers contact
4) Test the manual override to see if it clicks back and forth crisp and clean >> the trippers click the manual override back and forth, so if override is sluggish, then timer might be bad >>> buy new timer and swap out insides without changing box
5) Sit and watch the timer and see if trippers hang up or they skip over the tripper lever> you might need new trippers. This seems odd with a new Intermatic timer.
6) The building electricity may have gone off and the timer is not set on current time and the bldg owner doesn't know how the timer works.

Long cycles on my whirlpool duet washer

it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.
