I plugged in the charger and started the system, completed the liscensing and ownership prompts. began to work out my adsl connection and it flashed up something and turned it's self off. The blue cord light is on, the yellow power button is pulsing on and off (asleep?) and the blue disk icon is flickering. i have tried turning it on and it all seems to start up but the screen remains off???? Can you help? is it as simple as needing to charge for a certain amount of time? why no manual?I plugged in the charger and started the system, completed the liscensing and ownership prompts. began to work out my adsl connection and it flashed up something and turned it's self off. Some startup item may be causing it. Before you shutdown your laptop, close all applications. Also click on start and then run. Type msconfig and click on "startup" uncheck all unnecessary itmes and restart and then test it. Good luck.
you just need to repair windows startup. and you can do it by bootup window 7 disk and go to repair opption and find startup repair opption. this opption will solve out this problem automaticly.
if you dont have an anti virus then you might have a virus if you do you might have to delete some stuff off of your hard drive if that doesnt work then you might want to do a reboot it DO NOT DELETE YOUR SYSTEM 32 you will not be able to start your computer.
You may have a bug. You may start by going to control panel and see how many programs are trying to start up at the same time. When my laptop does that I normally go to the control panel and stop programs and keep them from turning on at start up. you really dont need all programs to start up at the same time. This may cause freezing and longer times to start at start up.
Your system is not producing video output after the POST, which means the Windows video is messed up or there is a problem with a component like memory. Because you can see the Toshiba splash screen, it tells you the LCD screen is fine. At least you know the LCD screen is working. See if you can get into the CMOS setup screen. I think it may be by pressing F2 on startup. If you can get to that, make sure the hardware is correct (like seeing if your hard drive is seen as installed). You can also try to press F8 on startup and start the computer in safe mode. Very possibly something is trying to start when Windows starts and not completing its startup.
Click on the Start and type msconfig in the Start Search box.
Msconfig will appear at the top of the Menu. Rightclick on it and
choose "Run as Administrator". Click on the Startup Tab and uncheck the
below startup.
Reboot and you shouldnt have anymore problems. Make sure that you give
Toshiba a call though and register your computer. This may be a
requirement to validate your warranty.
Startup while tapping the F8 key, this should open the startup options screen,Select start up in VGA mode,If that works, then you need to update the video drivers
Try This. Restart your computer and as soon as it boots up tap the F8 key repeatedly until you see windows advanced options menu. select safe mode. when it asks you for the operating system just hit enter. as soon as it boots to safe mode do this. click start> run> type msconfig then hit enter. On the system configuration utility click on the startup tab then select disable all. Click apply then close. restart your computer again. It may be a corrupted startup program that is preventing your computer to boot up properly.
after the booting process, go to run command type msconfig, go to startup then uncheck all the programs thats you don't want to run at startup, reboot you laptop
