Our Acer desktop will not install our Kodak printer It installed on our Dell laptop just fine

Yes of course you can. Just install your printer driver in your dell laptop...

to install shared printer first you have install printer in a desktop or laptop. after that share the printer. for that go to printers and faxes ? right click share the printer. give a name to identify the printer. Go to other system open network places ?entire network open system which you installed printer > open printers folders and right click on printer name select connect. If you cannot access system from network places. type ip address of system (in which printer is installed) on where you want to install printer. ex: in run > type //192.168.0.25 and press enter and open printers folder and right click on printer and connect

click Start -> Run -> type "Services.msc" -> scroll down until you find print spooler -> right click it - > click start

1st You download Printer Driver. Kodak Printer Driver After this install the Printer driver in the system.
Installation of Printer Driver

• Go to the control panel
• Click on the System Icon
• Click on the Hardware Tab
• Click on the Device Manager then
• Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
• Right click on it and uninstall it.
• After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
• Driver installation Wizard start.
• Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
• Driver will be install.

Yes its compatible with your computer, you just need to install the necessary software for the printer and that should be fine after that....

It won't matter that the two are from different companies. You will need the drivers for the printer, either from an install CD or you can get them from the Dell site. Load the drivers on the Acer and then plug in the printer and everything should work fine.

Download the drivers and install them, also download and install the uppgrade file and the application file. Reboot your wifes laptop when told to do that and you and your wife will be fine.

The Kodak printers are known to have issues with the software compatibilty with vista. do not worry , the research team of Kodak will look up to the issue.What you can try is to 1. delete the printer drivers from c://program files/kodak. 2.delete the Kodak folder from registry. click on start and in search box type in run. in run box type in regedit and then delete Kodak folder under registry. 3. click on start and in search box type in run.in run box type services.msc and restart the following services a. print spooler b. windows installer. c.remote procedure call locator.
4.delete software from add or remove programs
5.Try to install the latest version of Printer software from www.kodak.com/go/downloads

I had trouble installing this from the installer on the desktop. It would quit the process before being done.
I solved this by coping to an available hard drive the installer, and when running the installer from another hard drive it installed fine.
