Chainsaw has a spark put petrol down bore still

Very unlikley to be an air lock, more likley to be a massive air leak, check the rubber induction tbe behind the carb mount it may have split, if not then a possible blown crank seal.

how much use has it had and is the bore scored its probably worn needs new piston Rings

Hi, check that the master control is putting the choke on fully and check that the second click up is holding the throttle open slightly, regards Phil.

Have the coil checked at a local repair shop. Also check that the coil wires are not damaged, cracked or kinked.

Check fuel filter in tank, before u try any other fix.

take the muffler off - have a look at piston / rings and bore , i suspect you did not put enough oil in the petrol or forget to put oil in petrol and ran on straight fuel or on a very very lean oil mix

if you see quite deep scores and gaulls on piston / rings / bore - might pay to invest in a new saw or a new piston and cylinder kit for these machines

The first thing you need to do is service and re-kit the carburetor. The lower chamber diaphragm is likely cracked and hard, and maybe the fuel metering valve is defective. Remove the spark plug, ignition off, and turn the engine upside down. With the throttle full on and the choke off, pull the engine through a number of times to expel the excess fuel. Check for a blue, snappy spark while the plug is out. Check for a plugged air cleaner and muffler. Hope this helps!

Ok first off drain all fuel out of the saw replace the fuel tank filter, then clean out the air cleaner, pull the spark plug out and with some and paper sand the spark plug so that it's clean. NEXT mix some new gas mix and add to the tank try putting the choke on full and pull rope about a dozen times then put choke in partial open and try starting. If it does not start pull spark plug and pull starter rope and see if you have spark if you do add a capfull of gas mix into the spark plug hole and tighten the spark plug down and try pull starting if it fires off and dies then you have a cracked fuel line and need to replace the fuel line. When you have the plug out spray a small amount of WD 40 into the sparkplug hole and pull the rope a few times to get rings lubracated then add the gas. If it won't start post here and I will give you more directions to test for starting again. HOPE THIS HELPS AND THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA.

If it is brand new, sounds like you should return it for the retailer to have repaired.

Sounds like its flooded pull the plug and run pull it a few dozen times to dry it out. then try again
