Color has an overall golden hue. Cannot adjust color to make correction. Whites appear yellowish. Replaced the bulb, still have the same problem.

Your display panel needs replaced

the projection tube needs to be adjust for color alignment, each tube (red, green, blue) must be aligned so you there would be no color smear appear on screen. if it is aligned try to set up the color balance, hue etc.

Please check all the pins at both ends of the VGA cable, also try it on another PC.

Do a factory reset to this set, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. If the set is hooked up using Component cables (red, green, blue), then check to make sure the cables are hooked up correctly, and not defective (change them out). If the color problem remains, then the problem may be in the Optics block of the television (which is not unheard of in this unit).

If the menu of the TV displays blotchy discoloration, and the discoloring is the same for every input on the tv (stationary), then it is the Optics, and the optics need to be changed. It is not the easiest job in the world, and the block itself is quite expensive, although the unit my be under an extended warranty from Sony. Contact them directly to see if you can get any help (cost or service-wise). Hope this helps...

You have a bad optical block, the block has a 2 year warrnty but you will have to pay labor to have a tech change it

sounds like one of your tubes got weak, im thinking the red tube, needs to be adjusted manually

I seem to have found the solution (and the cause, perhaps?) for this problem!

I was having the EXACT same problem with a monitor I'm repairing for a friend. The capacitors on the power supply board were blown (CapXon capacitors, who'd've guessed), which was keeping it from powering up. After replacing the capacitors, the screen worked beautifully. But it had this weird yellow tint!

The strange part was that pure colors - red, green, blue - all appeared perfectly OK on screen. Curiously, the menus would show in the proper colors, except for one: the manual color adjustment menu, which illustrated "Blue" as a sort of off-green in the icon. Auto-Adjust would always fix the colors for a split second, then go back to yellow. Reset didn't fix it. Color reset didn't either. So, exactly the same problem as above.

The solution I found was hidden within the main menu itself, a sort of "easter egg". <b>Hold the Menu button down while pressing Power, and hold it down until the screen, and menu, appear</b>. There will now be a hidden selection, "Auto Color", printed in a red-on-black font at the bottom of the menu. Use the +/- buttons to access it, and press Menu. Voila! PERFECT COLOR! Perhaps this menu was accessed by accident, and calibrated to an incorrect color key. But now my picture works great, and the setting lasts through Auto-Adjusts and Resets!
