Identify your sound board - visit the manufacturer website ... search your model and get the driver. You can look in the Device Manager for this information. You may also wish to update or download the driver from within the device manager.

You may wish to go to www.pcpitstoplcom and have your computer scanned. The website will provide you with a free report on all aspects of your computer, software installed, memory, names of components and what drivers are installed and or missing.

This is a free service of PCPITSTOP, though they do sell stuff there. It is certainly worthwhile to take advantage of this free service.

If you need additional help with this, please let me know.

I hope you find what you need

I have an HP computer, and my stepfather recently had to wipe out my hard-drive and reinstall windows. It is working amazingly, except for the fact that I can't access sound in any way. When I access the...

You say you have re installed windows.
Was this from your recovery/reload disc ?
If it was then your drivers should be included and installed.
If it was from a standard copy of windows, you will need to visit the HP support page and download your audio drivers IF they are available for the version of windows you have installed.

I replaced my hardrive and now there is no sound. UNder the control panel under sound/audio it reads no audio device

Sometimes the drivers aren't automatically updated or loaded when you install new hard drives. What I suggest is you download the sound drivers again for you Toshiba Satellite A135-S2276 laptop. Click here for the link to download site. All you have to do is enter your Operating System ( e.g. Windows 7, Vista, XP ) and you will click on the sound driver and download it.
Hope this helps and thank you for choosing FixYa.com

The computer says no audio output device is installed

Hi Sehajpg,

Did the sound used to work? Did you recently format the hard drive? any idea when the problem started?

there are many things that can go wrong but in the end this particular problem always is about the computer detecting the hardware (the sound card) and the installing of the drivers once the sound card is detected. You can find out a little bit of information by going to:

start menu>control panel>system(if you cant see "system" switch to classic view on the left)>hardware>device manager

I know its a lot of menus but once your there the device manager will tell everything about the innards of your pc. It will also tell you (with a big yellow question mark) what items its having a problem with.

Please go there and see if there is a question mark next to anything so we can get your sound working.

Sony desktop has no sound

try to find the volume in your task bar, maybe was set to mute. if not see the volume. go to control panel double click the " audio and sound device" uncheck the mute "box" , same probelm occur.
do this,
Install the correct audio driver, maybe have error on it,
Find the CD/DVD utilities of your computer and the install the audio driver.,
if don,t have CD/DVD utilities tell me the Audio card model number or if the audio is builtin to motherboard tell me the motherboard for me to search the driver for you to download.
