I have a WMA 31 washing machine. There is a serious leak from the white plastic bowl at the back. The bowl is fastened with a large bulldog grip. Could this have come loose? We bought the damned thing from ebay. Nicola

I have a 5E error on the diplay of my washing machine with the clothes locked inside and with no solution whatsoever .... Help Please

If its a samsung model, which I am assuming it is as I have just had the same error code, it means you need to clean your debris filter.

If its a samsung washing machine...to clean the debris filter you need to open the panel which is located on the front of the washing machine on the bottom right (you will need a coin or a key to do this) When you do you will see a large black plastic screw on the left and a small white plastic screw on the right.

The 1st thing you need to do is pull out the white screw (this is the emergency drain hose) have a bowl or bucket ready (the hose doesnt reach that far) and pull of the white knob (i had to kind of twist and pull, a little harder than i thought)

After you have drained the water you can now clean the debris filter (the large black screw) Have some towels or another bowl or bucket ready underneath as more water will drain. When all gone you can twist off the black screw and remove anything blocking (I had a coin and a plastic wrapper and some tooth picks. No more error message.

Good Luck!

Machine filled with water itself and does not empty.

Power off the mains. The filter is located behind the silver plate at the back of the machine at the bottom. Four screws hold it on. Drain out all the water. The filter is inside the big black rubber hose attached between the pump and the main drum. Remove the plastic clip holding it to the pump unit and then the metal cir clip holding it to the main drum. Inside is a white molded cone and a big white ball which floats. You will find a lot of junk here, clean out thoroughly. To refit put white cone back inside just as you found it, at the bottom, fit ball back into the cone. Attach to the bottom to the drum and re-fasten the cir clip. Finally reconnect the gator to the pump unit and tighten the plastic clip. Check out the pump too before reconnecting.

It leaks water out the bottom

Here is how I solved this problem. I had a small needle nose vice grip, the 'nose' is about 1 1/2 inches long. I tried to clamp the oval shaped screw heads in the vice grip in a perpendicular manner, ie the vice grip was extending away from the side of the coffee maker. There is a recess in the plastic where the screw heads are seated so they are flush when tightened. The ends of the vice grip were slightly too large to fit in this recess. So I ground down the ends of the vice grip so it could fit in the recess and grip the oval end of the screw. After clamping it tightly, I used an adjustable wrench to turn the vice grip and the screw to successfully remove them. I replaced them with normal Phillips screws during the reassembly.

Frequently off balance and won't spin

Check if the machine is level and if after it has spun, the bowl is in the centre. Remove front cover and inspected all the springs that hold the bowl onto the lower chassis. The bowl should be balanced in a round plastic bowl which is in the shape of a bell. Check if this plastic bowl is worn. There will be pieces of plastic or plastic"dust" all over the bottom of the machie if it is worn.

Good Luck.
