Hi,

It sounds like your driver board/assy boards/video board inside maybe faulty or the cables have come loose.

The driver board/assy boards feed the display panel with the images.

The video board decodes the input signals.

If you switch over to analogue does it still happen, if so my money would be on the driver/assy boards.

Depending on the age of the TV part replacement will be between approx £100 - £200 in the UK.

Seek out an engineer for repair.

Thanks

Blue dots on screen and left corner patch of blue

Blue LCD has been damaged.

Try and contact your nearest Sony agent and tell them you have an optical block failure with your model number.

There is a lot of information going around at the moment regarding the cause of the failure. Some countries Sony replaces the Block and others they offer new sets to the customers.

The sooner you speak to Sony the better for you!

Near the bottom edge of the screen on my Wega KF-50WE 610 has appeared a ''blue haze'' that appears after the TV has warmed up. It started a few days ago as ''fuzzy blue dots'' about the size of silver...

This was caused by a defect in the optical block of the TV. It will only get worse with time and the only way to fix it is to replace the whole optical block which is very expensive (over $1000 usually) and time consuming (you need to take the whole TV apart). However, since it was a defect, there was a class action lawsuit that caused Sony to extended the warranties for certain models on the optical block for parts and labor. Call Sony to see if your model was one of the ones they extended the warranty for.

This model also has a paper filter for the Optic block that should be changed. No one ever said anything about it. shortens the life of the optic block if not changed.

Blue tints w/ tini blue dots

if you see blue pixel type groups of squares or dots you may have a burnt light engine and this is common in many LCD rear projection sets; a blue screen may mean the engine became burnt--LCD rear projection sets of this kind have an optical enginge--with red, green, blue prizims--sometimes they get burned by the lamp---a photo would tell me or most techs what the problem is---the cost of a replacement engine is very expensive--some models with this problem are covered by Sony even if the set is no longer in warrant

Blue dots on screen.

Well it could be an issue with your video board or the dmd board, with the TV on, go to the menu. If those dots show on the menu, the issue will be with the dmd board, on the contrary it will be with the Video board

Blue section (corner) and blue dots

This set has no internal manual adjustments for color. The Tracking or B&W balance is accessed via the service menu. I don't suggest you attempt to adjust without instrumentation. the trouble with your set is not an adjustment. Most likely the Optics are at fault. This model has had issues with filters in the optics being destroyed over time by the lamp. The blue haze will get worse and continue to grow over the whole picture. The only option is to remove the Optics (light engine) and sent it out to be rebuilt.

SONY KF-WE50 Preojection TV

You most likely have a bad optical block. The blue dots are a pretty good indication of this. Sony has extended the warranty of some of their models to include an extension on the optical block replacement. I don't recognize your model number (Not a US model?) so you will have to check with Sony in your country to see if your set is covered. Please be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
