Hello,

Your power supply/inverter board has died. Heat buildup in lcd monitor cases cause parts called capacitors to overheat and blow out. If you can solder you should be able to do the repair yourself. Check out the pictures on our web site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm now open the back of your monitor and look at the power board, replace all of the blown capacitors that yousee and you should be back in business. Be sure to use high temp caps, they will be marked 105c. Also be sure to insert the new ones with the polarity stripegoing the same direction as the ld ones come out. The values you need to purchase will be marked on the sides of the blown ones you take out such as 220uf, 470uf or 1000uf. The replacements can be ordered from many places on the internet or we can supply them for you. The capacitors at Radio Shack will not work, they are not rated low ESR and high heat so they will blow out in a month or two. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $35 + return shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

BenQ w1080st. Just replaced lamp, after it has been working fine until bulb broke. Now green temp light comes on and screen goes dark after 3-4 min?

The green temp light indicates that the fan isn't working; some models have 2 fans. The fan cools the projector lamp and protects the unit from damage. When the fan isn't working, the projector turns off to keep the temperature from continuing to rise. This information is available on page 52 of the User Manual available here: https://www.benq.com/en-us/support/downloads-faq/products/projector/w1080st/manual.html . The current link to the manual is https://esupportdownload.benq.com/esupport/Projector/UserManual/Projector_um_User%20Manual_20130529_114725W1070_W1080ST_EN.pdf . The recommended solution is a service call.

If your projector is out of warranty and not covered by a repair plan, I found several sources for the replacement fan with a Google search. IFixit has some videos for taking apart the projector to clean it and replace the fan on some BenQ projectors.

I hope this helps.

Camera does not come on

Make sure to remove the battery first ... make sur your camera has a full battery charge ... then select "MENU" scroll through options until you find "FORMAT". This will re-set all your settings back to factory settings ... you will lose any saved pictures on the internal memory only. ALSO when your camera light goes on try to hit the PREVIEW OR EDIT SElection. I* cant see how the memory card being removed would cause your display to permently be damaged. You can also try to connect your USB/AV port. Use your A/V cable with the two input connections to a TV to see if it is putting out an image. Hope all goes well
