It sounds like you are having a problem with the ignition system on your GE XL44 range. The ignition system is responsible for lighting the gas burners on your range, and if it is not functioning properly, the burners will not ignite.
There are a few things you can try to fix this problem:
Make sure that the burners and the ignition system are clean. If the burners or ignition system are clogged with debris, it can prevent the burners from lighting.
Check the ignition system for any visible damage or debris. If the ignition system is damaged or clogged, it may not be functioning properly.
Check the electrical connections on the ignition system to make sure they are secure.
If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may be necessary to have the ignition system inspected by a technician to determine the cause of the issue.
It is also possible that there is a problem with the gas supply to the burners or some other issue, so it may be worth having a technician inspect the range to diagnose the problem.
back right burner is not reading flame
clean electrode make sure it is dry
after cleaning if problem still there
may have to replace electrode or spark module
u need service for that
The igniters for the burners are all on one circuit so when you turn the burner to light the switch inside the burner valve will cause all burner igniters to come on. As far as the left burner not sparking it could be due to a bad igniter switch in the valve and when you turn on the right burner you are causing all(including the left one) to spark. You will need to make sure that the burner eyes are clear and not plugged. You can use a sewing needle to clear out the eyes. The small eyes at the igniter electrodes are very important because if they are clogged the burner will not light.
all burner igniters work at the same time - you may have a faulty electronic spark unit. change the spark unit. go to repair clinic dot come for the unit. also would be wise to check the ingniter start switch on the gas burner control knob
Each burner control knob has a built-in switch that controls the igniter. It appears the front right burner switch in the knob is possibly defective. They are replaceable but it requires dis-assembly of the range front. Are all the igniters in a sequence? Have you tried turning the front right burner on while another burner has the igniter on. This may let you ignite the burner automatically. When you have another burner igniter clicking try turning on that burner. If the range has rectification igniters that will not work.
It sounds like your cross-over **** located underneath on the back of
the burner is needs cleaning. Take your burner out, turn them over and
your will see a slot on the rear of the burner. wire brush the slot
until it has a clean ****. This cross-over **** is what brings the
flame to the right side.
Your problem is not the igniter itself, but the burner switch that controls the igniter. All the igniters get their power from one spark module that is mounted somewhere in back of the oven. That's why you are able to get all the igniters to spark with only one burner control turned on. This is normal. That is also why you are able to light the burner in question buy turning on another burner. The spark is being provided by a switch that is working. To answer your question: the igniter is removable, but I don't think it's necessary. Cleaning them generally doesn't make them work better. I would check the wiring from the spark module to the burner switch and/or replace the switch. I hope this helps.
