Hi, I did a mess, my camera has follen down and I broke the battery door, since the camera is perfect, I'd like to find a replacement. Any idea? Is there a service or private who could sell a spare part like this?
Same problem. Virtually new camera, and I dropped it. Its the plastic sliding latch that has snapped and now the door wont stay shut. I am trying to find a replacement for that sliding latch.

I phoned the Olympus people for replacement parts 800-622-6372 and they shipped me a replacement battery door assembly for my Stylus 1010 camera. I only paid shipping.

sir,
this part is available with Nikon agency, to replace this you have to open the whole camera, then detach the front portion, it doesn't matter, just a piece of rubber or sponge fix on the battery lid, this will be help full to hold the battery at contact perfectly.
The same thing happened to me this week. I called Canon Canada directly and asked to order the part (The battery compartment door).
They gave me a phone number to call and I was able to order the replacement door for about $8.00 + $10-$12 shipping. Hope this helps!
I'm having the same problem with my DSC-W1 camera. I dropped my camera and the battery door latches broke.
I found a replacement door on Ebay for $9.95
I followed the instructions in the description and easily removed the broken door from my camera. Now i'm just waiting on the new door to arrive so I could slide the new door in.
I hope this was helpful.
Here's the seller I bought the door from. Hopefully the seller has more doors. =) :
I have the same hp 850, No way to fix it, So to hold the Battery Door Down, I Drill'ed a small hole through the top. & through the case

So Think it Over before you Try it....Slow slow slow, & the right size Drillbit, screw, & turn it in Slow.. P.S. It was do that! or $500
Down the Drain, Good Luck, The Wizard
The camera will work with the charger cord plugged in, but you are limited to taking photos only near a power source. I have the same issue; broken battery door...Still looking for another hard broke 850 to take parts off of.
Yes i have fixed it.
Sorry for my spell, but i try.
First i kutt off the little broken plastic-bits with a knife. Demontage the four skrews in the battery flip. I take a little bit stainless string ca 0,5 mm dia and ca 20mm long. I hold this string
with a handtool (tong)and put a soldering-heater on the end off the string and pusch the string troth down
two times and get two holes there the two tabs have been. And after that a bend with a tong the string like an U (2x90 degrees) exaktly after the hole-with.
And after that a pusch down the string in the two holes exaktly so high so the little finger on the battery-door go in. Test and try with the battery-door. And take a thinn tong and bend out the string to the left and to the right inside the kamera. Thats it. Work with care and slow and exaktly with mm-tholeranse. Good luck !!
