I have the same broken door latch problem. Someone said they ordered a replacement battery door from Olympus, but when I called them they would not sell me the part directly to me. They said I would have to send the camera in to them for repair or use a repair shop that could order the part. It is highly annoying that they refuse to sell the part to the consumer! Has anyone else been able to purchase the battery door part directly?

Did it get wet?? Are you sure battery is charging? You can send it in to Olympus repair dept. for a free estimate. http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_servicerepair.asp Mine was still under warranty so everything was free and they had it back to me within the week. For a my sister's wedding. Unbelievable!!! Great experiance!
The part came in three days and it was SO EASY to replace. You just need a tiny Phillip's head scewdriver and about three minutes. Remove the three small screws that attach the faceplate to the camera (one on the bottom, two on the side). The faceplate pops right off and exposes the hinge that holds the battery door in place. Remove the final screw that holds the hinge in place. Reuse the original spring, pop the new door in place and then replace the faceplate.
