Dell Latitude D620, Black Screen/Power On

I have a Dell Latitude D620. It has now been sent back to Dell twice. They claimed to fix the motherboard. The problem is that while using the laptop the screen will without warning black-out. I know the laptop is still receiving power because the lights indicating WIFI, Bluetooth, Power and Battery are still on. I have ruled out any viruses considering I borrowed the same laptop from a family member and had my hard-drive put into the loaner and the problem did not happen. I get back MY laptop and the screen is still having issues!! Please help!

It is the backlight! That laptop uses a fluorescent lamp. It is bad.
If you look carefully at the screen, you will see the Windows desktop (or whatebver you are running). It just needs to be lit up.... from the back. Tel them to replace the LCd screen or replace the lamp.

Hope this helps!

I went out leaving my dell latitude D620 laptop on for hours, when i got back the screen was blank. i powered on and the lights came on and went off again

1. Check and see if the LED is on with the AC adapter, if possible, try a different Dell AC adapter (ANy D or E series Dell with a cannon plug connection should run that system Also ensure that the adapter is plugged into the wall.
2. If a known good power adapter does the same thing or if the LED goes out as soon as the adapter is plugged in to the system then the motherboard is suspect

My Dell Latitude D620 Screen is Black and the keyboard dosent work when I turn on the computer. The only LED light that shows is the power light, the wifi or the little cylinder light dosent work. I can...

remove all attached devices like printers or flash drives. remove battery and power on using ac adapter only. if it still wont work, try another good ac adapter. make sure ac adapter light is on. if it still shows the power light on and nothing else, replace motherboard.

Dell latitude d620 once i turn on power the power and bluetooth light comes on while the keyboard status lights flash screen stays blank and after about five seconds turns itself off ?

Is the laptop really turning itself off, or is the display just not doing anything?

It sounds like it could be a problem with the nVidia GPU used on the D620.

Dell has extended the warranty on the nVidia GPUs by 1 year. Call Dell and describe the problem.

Password lock,dell latitude d620

There a couple things you can try, however, if these don't work, you'l have to send it to dell and pay to havethem remove it. This a security feature built into the laptop by Dell.
1. Remove the battery on the motherboard, wait about 1-2 minutes and put it back in. Power it up and see what happens. If that don't work, go to step 2.

2. Go to this site: http://www.passwordmethod.com/PasswordMe Follow the on screen directions.

3. If 1 or 2 don't work, you'll have to send it off to Dell.

Dell Latitude D620 - Screen shows boot up, but then goes blank. I know the screen is ok as the dell part shows on screen, but when the blue screen should appear to insert password etc, the screen remains...

Here are some easy things that can sometimes resolve this problem:
1) Sometimes there can be a static buildup on the mother board. Power off, remove the battery, remove the power cord and hold the power button in the on position for at least 30 seconds.
2) If that didn't work- Power down, remove the battery, remove the Hard Drive and memory modules and reinsert them. Try to power back up
If these things don't work, get back to me for some more ideas.
Hope this helps and have a super day!
