Under the network settings there is no TCP/IP settings on my machine Is there something I am missing?? Plus I have Vista 64, and I can not print even with the print drivers that I downloaded.
Re: I can not find the IP address or my bizhub350.
Hi John,
Try this: Type CMD into a start/search line, then right click the link in the menu and choose 'run as
administrator'. Click continue at the uac prompt, then run ipconfig /all from this prompt. Or, ipconfig - shows basic IP and network settings.

As one person suggested above, it is possible to share the printer between two machines. All you need to do is set it up as a TCP/IP printer and assign it an address (either through the DHCP server or by giving it a static IP address), then go into the two machines and add the printer as a network printer. When asked about the type of port to use, select Local TCP/IP port... and enter the IP address of the printer.
I recommend setting a reserved DHCP address through your router to insure that the printer keeps a constant address and to insure that the router does not accidentally try assigning the same address to something else and therefore cause an IP address conflict.
The first step in the
troubleshooting process is to check the TCP/IP settings. You can check
it by using the IPCONFIG/All command on the command prompt. You will
see the configuration results. If you see a blank configuration for a
card this means then the card is not assigned any IP address. You can
assign the IP address manually or via DHCP server. If you are using the
DHCP server for assigning the IP addresses then you can use the
following commands to get and release the IP address.
IPConfig/Release
IPConfig/Renew
IPConfig/All
If the computer is still
unable to obtain an IP address, then there are several things that can
causing this problem such as bad network cable or NIC card, DHCP server
might have assigned all the IP addresses from its pool, mis-configured
TCP/IP settings, incorrect user name and password. You can try to add a
new well configured machine to the replace the malfunctioning machine
to see if the new machine is working with its settings. Also see if the
driver of the NIC is properly installed or not. In case of driver's
problem go to the vendor's website and install a new exact driver for
the NIC.
Verify that TCP/IP (or other appropriate protocol) is properly installed.
Open Control Panel and open Network Connections or Network and Sharing Center, then click Change adapter settings. The wireless card should be present as Wireless Network Connection.
Right-click the appropriate Wireless Network Connection and select Properties. In the Properties window, make sure that the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) or Internet Protocol Version (TCP/IPv4) is installed.
If TCP/IP is not installed, click Install, click Protocol, and then click TCP/IP.
Once installed make sure that Obtain an IP address automatically, and Obtain DNS server address automatically are checked (if using DHCP). To verify this, highlight the TCP/IP protocol, and select Properties.
Note: Only use a Static IP Address if your network/Service Provider requires one.
8.Verify the TCP/IP address.
Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
Type the command, ipconfig. This will list the IP address for the local machine.
If this returns a 169.x.x.x or 0.0.0.0 address, then type the following commands; ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew.
You should then receive a TCP/IP address appropriate to your network, along with a Default Gateway address.
Try to communicate with it by typing this command ping x.x.x.x where x.x.x.x is the IP address of the Default Gateway. (i.e. ping 192.168.1.1)
If this does not give a reply (see the example in step 9) or you did not receive a TCP/IP address, go to the next step.
If you are connecting wirelessly, but receiving an IP address, your wireless router/Access Point might need to be reset (unplug power for a minute, then plug back in), or maybe defective. Please consult your wireless router/Access Point manufacturer for further assistance.
9. Ping the loopback address.
Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
Type the command, ping 127.0.0.1. This will send a message to the internal network stack on the machine. You should see a response like this:
Pinging 127.0.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128
Reply from 127.0.0.1: bytes=32 time<10ms TTL=128
Ping statistics for 127.0.0.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milliseconds:
Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms
If instead, you receive errors, then there maybe system corruption or malware installed preventing networking from functioning properly.
10. Verify that the hardware is functioning using diagnostics.
Check the web site, http://support.lenovo.com. Choose Download Drivers and Software and enter your particular system. Then under Diagnostic choose the download for your system. If diagnostics fail, please contact warranty support for resolution.
Run diagnostics for third party wireless card.
Note: If using another manufacturer's product, then consult it's documentation on how to run the diagnostics for the wireless card.
Changing TCP/IP settings
Win 7
TCP/IP defines how your computer communicates with other computers.
To make it easier to manage TCP/IP settings, we recommend using automated Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). DHCP automatically assigns Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to the computers on your network, if your network supports it. If you use DHCP, then you don't have to change your TCP/IP settings if you move your computer to another location, and DHCP doesn't require you to manually configure TCP/IP settings, such as Domain Name System (DNS) and Windows Internet Name Service (WINS). To enable DHCP or change other TCP/IP settings, follow these steps:
Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, typeadapter, and then, under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.
Right-click the connection that you want to change, and then click Properties. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the Networking tab. Under This connection uses the following items, click either Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6), and then click Properties.
The Network Connection Properties dialog box
To specify IPv4 IP address settings, do one of the following:
To get IP settings automatically using DHCP, click Obtain an IP address automatically, and then click OK.
To specify an IP address, click Use the following IP address, and then, in the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway boxes, type the IP address settings.
To specify IPv6 IP address settings, do one of the following:
To get IP settings automatically using DHCP, click Obtain an IPv6 address automatically, and then click OK.
To specify an IP address, click Use the following IPv6 address, and then, in the IPv6 address, Subnet prefix length, and Default gateway boxes, type the IP address settings.
To specify DNS server address settings, do one of the following:
To get a DNS server address automatically using DHCP, click Obtain DNS server address automatically, and then click OK.
To specify a DNS server address, click Use the following DNS server addresses, and then, in the Preferred DNS server and Alternate DNS server boxes, type the addresses of the primary and secondary DNS servers.
The Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)Properties dialog box
To change advanced DNS, WINS, and IP settings, click Advanced.
1) Select the following service mode COPIER>TEST>NETWORK>PING, and select PING. 2) Enter the IP addressof your PC using the numeric keys on the control panel, and press OK. 3) Press the start key. - OK is displayed if Ping succeeds, but NG is displayed if it ends in failure.
Perform this procedure only when connecting the machine to networks. If the machine fails to be connected to networks, any of the following causes is probable. a. Connection failure between networks and the machine b. TCP/IP setting failure of the machine c. User network failure d. Main controller PCB failure The detailed check methods are as follows.
Checking with Loopback Address you can check whether TCP/IP settings of the machine are appropriate by executing Ping with this address. 1) Enter the loopback address (127.0.0.1) in PING. - If NG is displayed, check TCP/IP settings of the machine again, and re-execute Ping. - If OK is displayed, perform the next check. Checking with Local Host Address The local host address is the IP address of the machine. Since the local host address returns in response to the network controller by executing Ping with the address, you can check whether the network controller (main controller PCB) is in a normal condition. 1) Enter the IP address of the machine in PING. If NG is displayed, take the following actions, and re-execute Ping. - IP address error of the machine: Check to see again if the IP address settings of the machine are appropriate. Ask the system administrator whether the allocated IP address is valid. - Failure in the main controller PCB: Replace the main controller PCB If OK is displayed, a cause may be user's network environment. Inform the system administrator of the current situation, and ask for measures.
Description Since the scope ID had been set under Additional Functions > System Settings > Network Settings > TCP/IP Settings . In the typical network setting
Field Remedy 1. In Additional Functions > System Settings > Network Settings > TCP/IP Settings and press [OK].
2. Turn the main power switch OFF and then ON to restart this machine. 4. Execute the Ping command 60 sec after power-on to check if the host responds it.
