LG dishwasher detergent cup will not stay closed.

I do not know which machine you have , but it sounds like the plastic catch on the dispenser has worn down. You would need to replace the dispenser unit.

What is wax motor on dishwasher

They are used in many dishwashers to release the detergent dispenser door latch. The wax motor acts like a solenoid when activated by the dishwasher's timer or control, and the piston operates the mechanism which then releases the catch for the dispenser door.

In simpler terms, the motor that releases the cover over the dishwasher detergent well is called the wax motor.

Latch doesn't always catch so microwave won't run

Well I think you need to clean and pray the latch area with silicone spay lubricant and work the catch a few times to work it into the mechanism and see if that makes any difference but make sure you wipe off any surplus silicone spray

The trunk latch on my 2003 Nissan Altima will not work. Whenever I try to close it, the latch will not catch so I have it tied down with a rope. How can I fix this?

It sounds like the latch mechanism is in the closed position, which would prevent it from catching when you close the trunk lid. Try using your key to unlock the latch, or activate the trunk opener from inside the car. If neither of those works, you may have to use a screwdriver or similar bladed tool to manually open the latch. Also, check the metal bracket that the latch catches on. It could be out of position, or could have something covering it, preventing the latch from locking onto it.

When i close my hood it latches but does not close. i bought a new and it still does not work. is there a fuse for it that i am missing

Check that the rubber buffers have not moved up causing the hood to not come down fully. Also check that the bullet shaped catch has not come loose and moved up, preventing it from catching on the latching lever. Have a look that the latching lever that is pulled by the cable from the cab has not stuck, although you did say that you replaced the latch.

I need to replace the detergent dispenser latch on

To replace the parts you have to buy a whole dispenser assemble for $100 to $200. To buy some time ... Get a heavy gage sewing needle - hold it with pliers and heat it red hot. Stick the hot end into the plastic door at the area where the plastic latch is (where it will line up with the far end of the latch mechanism). when it cools cut off most of the needle leaving one eight to one sixteenth (more or less) protruding. Use a drill and small bit to remove some plastic (or drill a small hole) on the spring latch mechanism. push the remaining part of the needle in or out to engage the hole in the latch.. this will hold awhile.

The locking mechanism on the rear passenger door isnt working. The door will close but the metal catch will not lock. How do i repair?

I have seen some times the latch assemblys get rusty or dirty and the inside or outside door handles are pulled and the latch assembly siezes in the open position not allowing the door to latch closed..but this may not be the case .. check to see also if the child lock switch position is not stuck in the halfway position, also check if the latch has not flipped to the close position before the door was closed thus jamming the striker latch..this can be fixed by pulling the catch out while opening the door handle..hope this helps good luck...
