Lid switch is not sensing lid down. Try pushing down further with screwdriver, but it will need to be replaced.

My Kenmore 700 series top load washer doesn't fill enough water to agitate and wash the clothes on top

The machine is designed with an automatic water level sensor that even in a deep setting allows at the most 5 inches of water. The reason for this has to do with government regulations regarding energy efficiency.

While you could check intake hoses, this does not change the facts.

This would seem to possibly limiit the wash load. I would refer to the manual for any insight about that. My suggestion is to place the laundry evenly distributed just below the top holes of the basket.. For me to say it had 3.5 cubic feet capacity is of little value because who measures laundry by cubic feet. I hope the suggestion is of some help.

Kenmore Washer Series 700 Top Loading 110.29132 - two issues, not sure they are related.

I don't know if you've tried this, but when my washing machine misbehaves or the buttons wig out or it stops working, I just unplug from 110 for a few minutes and plug it back in. This has always worked for me.

First ck to see if your water pump is leaking. It normally leaks when the machine is running not just filling. Also look at all the attaching rubber hoses under the machine and see if water is leaking down the back right side of the machine and then running around the frame to the front long shot but possible.

The first thing seems to be the timer,or the water level switch. Try filling the washer with water by hand, if it starts to agitate after being filled its the timer, if not it is the water level switch, let me know if you need further assistance.
