Kenmore 90 Series Washer - No Agitator Movement

Washer fills with water normally, and then nothing. The agitator does not move, there is no power getting to the motor. The timer does continue to move. I can move the timer to the end of the wash cycle and it drains and spins normally, but nothing happens between when the water fill is completed and the drain cycle. The lid switch is functioning properly, the coupler is in good shape, and I have replaced the motor. Any ideas why the agitator cycles are not working at all?

Kenmore 700 series top loader washer. I put it on the normal cycle, the washer fills and agitates for a few minutes (maybe 5) then drains only to fill back up and finish the cycle. Is this normal?

no
some cycle the agitator during the fill cycle to get better distribution of the clothes as it is filling and then shut of the water and proceed to the wash cycle
have a technician check out the program board

11 year old Kenmore washer fills then stops.

in the machine under the front control panel will be a module that controls the wash agitation. Have it checked out as they fail . There is no connection between the timer and this unit as it comes in to play when the water reaches a set level. The timer just keeps working through the cycles believing the washer is agitating.

Kenmore 90 series washer. As the tub tries to

Hi,
It sounds like you have a bad timer. If you change the position of the timer and it does not change what is going on the the timer has to be bad. However I am not certain what you mean by the agitator turns all the time. Is it agitating while spinning and draining?

Washer fills but does not agitate or drain

Do you hear the motor running but no agitator movement ? If so , then you have a bad motor/trans coupling .

Kenmore Series 80 top loading washer that doesn't spin or agitate

Unplug machine, remove water pump and motor, behind the motor is a coupler, take broken parts to your local appliance parts store. Costs 16 bucks, replace the broken parts with new ones, reassemble machine. Never ever do a blanket/comforter in your machine again!!

Replace the motor coupling between the motor and transmission its very easy if you tilt the machine back and remove the two screws holding the motor brackets.

KENMORE ELITE TOP LOAD

Washer stops, won't fill, rinse or agitate

• Check the following:
Is the power cord plugged into a grounded 3 prong outlet?
Is the indicator on the Cycle Control knob properly lined up
with a cycle? Turn the Cycle Control knob to the right slightly
and pull to start.
Are the water inlet valve screens clogged?
Are both the hot and cold water faucets turned on?
Is the water inlet hose kinked?

• Does the water level seem too low, or does the washer
appear to not fill completely? The top of the agitator is
much higher than the highest water level. This is normal and
necessary for clothes to move freely.
• Has a fuse blown or is the circuit breaker open? If problem
continues, call an electrician.
• Are you using an extension cord? Do not use an extension
cord.
• Is the washer in a normal pause in the cycle? The washer
pauses for about 2 minutes during certain cycles. Allow the
cycle to continue. Some cycles feature periods of agitation
and soak.
• Is the washer overloaded? Wash smaller loads.
• Is the lid open? The lid must be closed during operation.
Washer will not agitate or spin with the lid open.
