To take it out, you need two special toolsto insert in the four small holes on the sides. Since you probably don't have them, you can use four allen wrenches of the appropiate size. Just insert them and they will unlock the unit. (you might need something else to help you pull the unit very gently from one of the slots).
To reset the unit, I am not sure what do you meen by that. Just remember the unit has to be set up to work in the car's setup with the dealers interface module.
