Only plays dvds and vcrs in black and white

Our landlord bought it for the house, no instructions, don't see any menu or button for black and white display...it's not the tv as it displays in color with our old dvd player.

Many thanks for the possible cause and solution. Why would such a machine be sold at a big box store here?

  • barrr Dec 01, 2007

again, many thanks for the explanation, but why would it be sold here?

maybe a imported product, not sure about it.

but the same thing happens always when brazilians come back from japan with game consoles and vcr.

  • Anonymous Dec 01, 2007

Also check the remote control or vcr unit control, maybe you can find some way to configure between color systems.

not sure about why they are selling.

maybe because it's a imported product will sell higher!?!

My vcr plays in black and white only...why isnt there color on the tv

Assuming that you're not playing a B/W tape, perhaps you plugged your AV video cable with a RCA port intended for component. Don't mix the colors... yellow plugs into yellow... not red, not green, not blue.

Bose lifestyle 48 dvd black and white only

Go to the "Bose" menu screen viewing on your TV (make sure no dvd is in the player) Go to your Video controls and check your output, chances are, if your using the component output your player is set to "S-Video". Should fix the problem. Hope this helps. If it's still not viewing correctly, post a comment and I will help you some more

Will play dvds with sound fine...but no sound from tv

You have to connect extra red & white audio cable from your TV's (or cable box, if you have one) AUDIO OUT to the Home Theater's AUX IN 2 at the back (below Video In). Set the HTS unit to AUX 2 using the AUX button on the remote control and you should be able to get sound.

Seinfeld DVD episodes won't play

It is probably not your VCR. If it is only the Seinfeld DVD's then the format that the production company wrote on those few episodes are incompatible with your vcr. I know I'm not solving your problem much, but don't go waste money on a brand new Vcr when not needed.

Recording Problems

Hi.

Yes.
Most tv sets with freeview built in do not allow you to record it.
Check your tv instruction manual to see if it is at all possible.
