I have a Samsung LNS4051D LCD TV that has been giving us problems. Occassionally the picture goes out but the sound still works. Any ideas what this might be? Should I try to change the lamp?

This model TV is covered under a class action settlement. Samsung has agreed to repair all TVs that have power issues free of charge because of defects in the power supply. You need to contact Samsung to arrange repair services. You can get additional information and contact information here:

Samsung 27" lcd tv picture goes black, still have
0ne of 3 has failed:
(in order of probability):

1. Backlight inverter
2. Power Supply
3. Backlight

Please seek the expertise of an experienced TV repair technician - as they contain potentially lethal voltages that must be properly discharged before work can begin.

Samsung lns4051d 40in has horizontal lines across screen and additional "fuzzies" on hd channels
This sound likes the incoming signal is week. You should play a DVD player to see if the problem stays same or not.
If you try all sources ie HDMI, AV Component, etc...the TV show the same problem. There are two possibilites: T-Con board or main board need replacing. You should need technician to figure out the problem. Hope it help.

No picture on Samsung LNS4051D HD TV.
Maybe the backlight is out, can you see a picture when shining a flashlight on the screen. if yes you have either a bad inverter power supply or bad screen (panel).

Green light covering all picture with no sound on occasion.
In LCD TV such problems occur due to problems in the circuit board. So no option for you to go for repair to your branded company authorized personnal.

LCD TV SOUND BUT NO PICTURE
Faulty parts on PS board , bad press for Samsung

Because the Samsung LNS4051D would not turn on and the power LED would blink 4 times and the relay would click and this would repeat again and again. I replaced power supply board parts CM806, 811, 812 & 817, all 1000 uf 10v capacitors, three had their tops bulged up slightly that I missed on initial visual inspection. After seeing the reports of problems with these caps on http://www.fixya.com/support/t1336881-will_not_turn_or_off , I replaced them with Radio Shack part 272-1032, 1000 uf, 35v. They are slightly bigger, but fit OK. TV is working fine now. Cost was 4 x $1.59 = $6.36 plus the time. I saved between $100 to 300 in the process of either replacing the board or getting the unit serviced.

Samsung LNT4665FX 46in flat screen LCD power supply cycles on/off, with audible que. Blue light at bottom of screen remains lit, but screen remains black. Does not respond to manual on/off or remote...
Check out the fixYa solution for the Samsung LNS4051D- it sounds like the same problem. Defective capacitors. You may need different part though.  We just fixed my mom's LNS4051D with that problem. I have the LNT4665 and although it hasn't failed yet, I am tempted to get some capacitors just in case.

TV Picture Goes Black
I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
