Ink system failure with the 6 ink cartridges can only be solved by a MANAGER at a call center for this unit. I know, because I used to work for HP (not more than 6 months ago) and got laid off.. I'd always have to tell my manager and he'd take the call. There should be an OX error .. write that down. Hopefully you have an extended warentee, because they'll send you a new unit if some of the VERY easy solutions arn't working. Sometimes it just involves resetting in menues you didn't know was there.. The OX error is what gives them the solution. If you don't have a warentee you can buy a 1 time, but that only works if it's software.. or they can walk you through on the phone, if it's a unit replacement you're out that $$ because they helped you and you gotta get a new unit.
