I've had Coda 2005 for four years, operating on a Compaq 2008. It seems that it has become severely corrupted. I still have the original CD with the program. How can I reload the program. As I remember it is necessary to register the program before it can be used. What can I do about this?

  • westlake1 Aug 10, 2009

The problem is that the Finale Allegro Coda 2005 program has a built-in stop if you don't register it. Since I've registered it once already, will I be able to register it again?

Simply uninstall your old program but make sure to back up your music and other media libraries. when you install the program.... it's done... registration is for updates only. however, if you need a license key, then you can just enter the key you have when you first purchased it. keep me posted with your feedback

Hello Westlake,

Have you tried reinstalling the installation CD? Try to run it. If upon placing it to your cdrom it wont automatically start an installation wizard, then you can start the installation manually by going inside the cd's files and you should be looking at a setup.exe file or the like.

Please let me know of any clarifications.

Thank you.

How do I set a Compaq Presario SR1403WM back to Factory settings

Step 1:
While many problems with Compaq Presario computers can be solved by less drastic means, there are times when the best course of action is to set the computer back to its original factory default state. Issues with persistent viruses or spyware often require this drastic step, as do problems with a corrupt operating system. Learning how to restore your computer to its original state is an important troubleshooting tool.

Shut down your computer and restart it. Watch for the Compaq logo, then press the "F1" key to enter setup. Press the right arrow within setup to go to the Boot menu. Press the down arrow to access the "Boot Device Priority" option. Change the first boot device to CD-ROM by pressing the down arrow until "CD-ROM" is displayed. Eject the CD tray and place the recovery CD that came with your computer into the tray. If you do not have a recovery CD, you can order one directly from Hewlett Packard. Shut down and restart the computer. The Presario will automatically boot from the CD and begin the recovery process. Select the operating system your computer shipped with. Many Compaq recovery CDs support multiple operating systems, so be sure to choose the operating system your computer shipped with. Insert the operating system CD when prompted. Enter the license key for the operating system when prompted. The license key is typically found on a small tag located on the top or side of the computer.

Hi!! I have a Compaq Presario that a friend gave me a while back that used to work and start up..but it doesn't now and I haven't been on it in months. It keeps saying that: Windows could not

The "Win32 config" system folder and the files within it are crucial to the Windows Operating System's stability. If any of these files become damaged or corrupted, you likely receive error messages. Fortunately, Microsoft puts the files to repair these problems on the installation CD that comes with your operating system. The original install disk offers a quick way to repair the system. Damaged files are replaced in only a few minutes.

Insert your Windows CD into the computer drive. Restart your computer. On startup, look for the message, "Press any key to boot from CD" and press "Enter" on your keyboard. You should see the blue "Welcome to Setup" screen. Click "Enter" on the "Welcome to Setup" screen. Read the "Microsoft Software License Terms," then press "F8." Use your arrow keys, go down and select the Windows installation you want to repair. Press "R" for "Repair." Windows will now start to restore the Win32 System to your computer.

How to find factory settings partition

While many problems can be solved by less drastic measures, Compaq owners sometimes need to restore their computers back to factory new condition.

If the operating system becomes corrupt, or if the computer is struck with a persistent virus, restoring the PC to its original factory default settings is often the best way to deal with the problem.

While older Compaqs relied on restore CDs to restore factory settings, newer machines come with a recovery partition built into the unit.

Shut down the Compaq computer and wait for it to power off.

Press the "Power" button to restart it.

Press the "F11" key as soon as you see a black screen.

This will boot the Compaq into the recovery partition.

Follow the on-screen instructions to back up any user files before the recovery process begins.

Click "Next" to start the recovery manager and follow the on-screen instructions.

Hope this helps.

Error code 819 2 0559 00000005 on compaq

Hello

This is a critical system error, probably due to corruption in the registry. If the computer runs try restoring the system to a day before you had this problem. Secondly you can goto Start, Run and type SFC /scannow, you'll need to have the original operating system CD. If these don't work then an operating system repair/reinstall is next.

Blue Screen with various STOP error messages appearing.

This is a tough one to troubleshoot since there are several issues which can result in this error. Let me start by listing known causes.

Corrupt pagefile.sys file
Corrupt or wrong drivers for system devices. printer, camera, ect.
Corrupt program drivers, adobe elements, capture card software.
Bad System Ram Modules.

You didn't specify if you installed anything new, hardware or software but to trouble shoot this issue begin by download Memtest86. This will test your system boards memory for errors.
If your ram passes the test you might try removing other devices such as printers and its software. Testing the issue after each uninstall.

Last you can try replacing system files or performing a system repair using your operating system cd. If you need to run the repair option and need help just post back here.

Hope this helps.
