Pc not starting When I press power button on cpu

If you are not getting the computer to start up but you are getting the fans to whir for a moment and the keyboard lights to flash, then that means that you probably have a bad motherboard. If you had a bad power supply, most likely none of these secondary indicators would be present. I would advise taking the computer to a local computer repair shop and having a professional investigate the problem. More than likely, he will be able to tell you the cause of your problem in short order.

HP 620 laptop shut down and won't start

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

System cpu fan cycles on and off 2 or three times and no display when you turn it on. ?

try to turn off the laptop and remove the battery and the power cable. Then press and hold the power button for 5 secs. Then reinsert the power cable and battery on to your laptop.. Turn on the laptop, and if the cpu fan cycles on and off, that means there is problem with the fan and also the power supply of your laptop. Call Acer to replace the power supply to stabilize your laptop's electricity...

The purple light is flashing in the front and tries to start and won't turn on. disconnected power cord and held button in for thirty seconds still have same issue what could it be?

This can be a faulty power supply or a damaged mother board. here's how you can confirm.

When pressing the power button, inspect the cooling fan that is located on the back of the power unit where the power cord plugs in. if the fan starts then stops immediately, this will confirm a damaged power supply.

Now, if the fan continues to operate but, the CPU doesn't start to power up and load the OS, thsi will confirm a mother board issue. replace the mother board in this case.

Mx6447 has no power

Mine wouldn't stay on - press the power button and the lights would flash for a sec, then it would go dead. I removed the fan/heatsink assembly, the CPU, and the memory (2 SODIMMs). I then resocketed the CPU, replaced the fan/heatsink assembly, being careful to tighten the assembly evenly and gradually onto the CPU. I'm not sure why, but it works now!
