I cannot remove the casing of the unit. i have removed the six screws on the bottom, and two under the DVD lid. The top of the casing seems to move, but only to a point. If i force it, it feels as though it will break.
Sometimes there are little ones on the back, under a sticker, Or they have to be pried.
The lamp module has two screws. Have you removed the lamp module? That may be what is holding it. I am enclosing the manual on the enclosed link. Please note the risk of electrical shock related to removing the entire cover and the fact that it is not considered to be owner removable. Here is the link. get back if I can be of further assistance.

You have to remove the cover. by the way why do you want to remove the unit casing?
You can disasesemble it in this way
remove the unit cover first to remove the lamp
A. Use screwdrivers to remove the screw from the cover
B. Remove the cover
C. Unscrew 2 screws from the lamp module
D. Pullout the lamp module.
The rest of the screws can be revealed from there
oh... the color wheel is mounted at the base. you have to carefully remove the base by unscrewing the locks at the base
sir please check from the base or rear side if there are screws hidden with warranty labels. It should be at the base OR at the rear part where this screws or plastic locks are located. Most probably, they are plastic locks since you got a newer model. These locks can be unlocked by tilting slightly the cover against the base board.

Make sure the DV10 has cooled down for at least 30 minutes
before doing anything. Then follow these steps:
1. Turn off the power to the lamp by pressing the power button.
2. Allow the projector to cool down at least 30 minutes.
3. Disconnect the power cord.
4. Use screwdriver to remove the screw from the cover.
5. Remove the cover.
6. Unscrew 2 screws from the lamp module.
7. Pull out the lamp module.
To replace the lamp module, reverse the above mentioned steps.
If it moves at lies a little ..be careful cause it has some click system ..like all electrics these days... so ...try to gentle press the inside in ...or the top that covers out ....one side at the time ...when you put it back just press and click in on ...
Hi,
As projector is very delicate and costly, better to take it to some service center or repair person.

Check for hidden screws under all soft objects and labels, ones you are sure there are no screws, you should be able to get the casing open, use a flat screwdriver to pull up the edges of the case, in many cases there are plastic clips that hold it in place and it seems like it would be screwed in but it isn't.
Look inside the battery case, hard drive case, memory case
and dvd drive slot for screw. Some screws on the bottom case in inside of
some of the device cases might have the icon of a keyboard next to it.
Those screws hold the keyboard in place.
Turn the laptop over, remove the strip that is just above the keyboard but be
careful because a cable might be attached to it. Then remove the screws
that hold the keyboard in place that are under where the strip was and gently
lift the keyboard out because there is definitely a cable under it.
Next you can remove the screws from the lcd hinges at the corners and lift the
lcd screen off, also note that you will have to pull the antennas cable and the
lcd cable when you remove the lcd.
Next start removing any screws that hold the palmrest in place. Take note of
any cables that are attached to the palmrest and remove them then lift the
palmrest off.
Next start removing any screws you see that hold the motherboard to the bottom
case, then lift the motherboard out an start replacing the fan.
A digital camera to take pictures will be most helpful to refresh you memory of
where things were.

The unit is a Optoma DV10. No screws have been found under labels or other soft objects.
I am trying to replace the color wheel. I have now removed the lamp, and the screws holding the glass window and bracket which acts as the barrier between the lamp and the color wheel; however, i cannot access the color wheel.
