SOURCE: Genie Compact 3-Button Remote control will only open 1 door/not 2

On some of the remotes you will find a toggle switch to change frequencies, this might help. Note all new openers are operating on a different frequency than slightly older ones due to military interference. Even though both might be intellicode they might not work together on the same remote. Sometimes some openers are harder to program than others. So lets try to program the harder one. You need to find and press the learn button on the motor head. Then press the button on the remote once. The led light by the learn button should not flash. If so try it over. The light should either stay lit or go out after the first press. If it does press it again and then a third time. If it ever flashes during the program process try again. The third or fourth time the motor should operate. If not you either have a bad remote or more than likely a bed logic board. Thanks BB

Garage door opener remote does'nt work when the garage door is shut

Probably you have a weak battery in your remote transmitter. When the garage door is closed it requires a stronger signal. Open the remote and replace the battery.

Remote only works in the garage, soon as i step out side the garage it dosn't work help please

Try replacing the battery, if this does not work either the transmitter or the receiver could be faulty, or there could be radio interference. The simplest solution would be to fit a universal garage door remote control, these are cheap and very easy to fit and will certainly solve your problem. Universal garage door remote control

My garage door opener remote does not work.I have a craftsman garage door opener manufactured in 1999. The garage door opener remote panel has a green light on and will open the garage door. The remote,...

Make sure the green light in the wall control is not flashing. That locks out the remote. If it is press and hold for 3 seconds the lock button on the wall control. It could just be that your remote has failed.

My Craftsman remote won't close my garage door

If the remote opens and closes while inside the garage but not outside , there are a few things it could be. Assuming it was working fine before..
1. weak battery in remote.
2. remote itself could be bad. (unless you have more than 1 remote acting the same)
3. Logic board in opener is going bad causing limited range. Is the wire that hangs down from the opener straightened out? That is your remote antenna. Some people have coiled or even cut it off..reducing range.
4. Less likely but this can happen- interference from another electronic device, wireless routers, cell phone, new appliances etc.. can reduce remote range. Any new electronics recently purchased?

Your receiver is going bad and should be replaced. It is part of the logic board.

Remote works only when Garage Door Opener light is OFF

I discovered that certain light bulbs interfere with the remote sensors. Harware stores have clear vibration reisistant bulbs for garage doors, try them instead. After spending money on a new remote, resetting remotes, and weeks of aggravation...poof.....i found it was the type of bulb I was using. Used a clear bulb and the problem went away. Hope this helps.
