SOURCE: Alok and Bhanu play the

48

the first number will be five and will be subbed for Z

Why? Anything lower could end up X, the multiplier.
Anything higher it could be Y, you could create a negative. Too low

The next two will be nines, because there is no down side

So N=12 + 9(9 - 5)

9*4=36

N = 12 + 36 = 48

How to solve an equation with negative exponent

You probably want to calculate the numerical value of some mathematical expression with numbers raised to negative exponents.
Just enter the expression as you would with positive exponents Except that before entering the value of an exponent press the change sign key, marked (-), or +/- or (+/-). Do not confuse the change sign with the usual minus sign, which is usually displayed bigger then the change sign. Make sure that the (-) is displayed before the value of the exponent. Use parentheses if necessary.

Determine the value of x that will make the expression meaningless.

What is the expression?
If it is mathematical, and contains a fraction, and the
denominator of the fraction contains and X, and the
X is part of a binomial such as "a - X" then the
assignment of a value for X that is equal to "a" (above)
then the fraction will become a singularity and it is not
definable: hence: the expression becomes meaningless......

Find the greatest common factor of 14x2y4z56xy2z3

To find a common factor you need to have at least two monomials. In your question I see only one.
However, if you want to find the numerical coefficient of this monomial, you must put all the the coefficients (not exponents) to the left separated by multiplication signs then perform the operation.
Also, gather all powers of a single variable into a single power with an exponent equal to the sum of the exponents`. Do it for all the variables.
I cannot do it for you here because you expression is ambiguous. Use proper notation (a raised value for any exponent) and/or parentheses to let us know exactly what you mean to do.

I don't know how to input the equation s=p (1+.06) to the 7th power

I am not sure that you can use algebraic expressions. However you have 5 memory locations you can store values in A,B,C,D,and E. Use the Sto> key. 15 [STO>] A stores 15 in memory A

If you wan to calculate the value of your expression, given the value of p, you enter it as follows
(value of p) [*] 1.06 [^] 7 [ENTER]

Is it possible to get euler's number on this calculator? I am a college algebra student starting exponential functions and need euler's number to computer continuous compound interest. Thank you.

Hello,
There is no key dedicated to e, the base of natural logarithm, the same as there is for pi. However you can find it as the VALUE of the exponential function e^(x) for x=1. To obtain the VALUE of e you press [SHIFT] [ln] to access e^x, enter 1 and press [EXE].

Thus
[SHIFT][LN]1 [EXE] gives 2.718281828.

If you need that numerical VALUE often you may want to store it into a variable, say E. To do that
[SHIFT][LN]1 [-->] [APLHA] E [EXE]

From experience, I know that it is not the VALUE of e that you need but the symbol e to define the exponential function. If you press [SHIFT][LN] you get a syntax error. You can never see e in a multiplication, addition, or other arithmetic operation.

In this calculator, the e is first and foremost the symbol for the exponential function. If you need to draw the exponential function of X
you press [SHIFT][LN] X. Parentheses are not needed for simple arguments as this one, but if the exponent is a complicated expression parentheses are needed.
If you mean exponential of X you type [SHIFT][LN] [X,theta,T], but if you want exponential of (x-3z+ 0.5 y^2), you must enclose the argument (the object of the function) between parentheses
[SHIFT][LN] [ ( ] x-3*z+ 0.5*y [^]2 [ ) ] [EXE].

Hope it helps.

Casio fx-7400G PLUS cubic solver?

Hi,
First let us repair the terminology.

  1. You can evaluate any expression (find the value of any expression for a particular value of its variable).Store a value in the variable, say X. Key in the expression and press [EXE].
  2. You can consider your expression(should not contain a relational operator such as =, greater than, less than, greater than or equal to, less than or equal to) to be a function Y1(x) = expression and graph it, or generate a table for it. You will have several values of the function calculated at various points.
  3. You can set your expression equal to 0 and find the particular value(s) of the variable (the unknown) that make the equality TRUE. That is called solving an equation.
I am not sure that it has a solver (solving an equation or an inequation) but you can always draw your expression as a function and explore the graph (SKTCH) to locate the roots (or zeros) of the functions (the values of the variable where the function equals zero.) That is called solving graphically.

Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa and for rating this solution.

MS Access: Zero value to display as "New"

Is that field a resultant of an expression or it will be filled manually? If it is a manually updated field then use the following expression in the code builder.

If ok.Value = "0" Then
ok.Value = "New"
End If
If the field is a resultant of an expression then add some more lines similar to above to get required results.

How To Calulate??.

Hello,
If you are comfortable manipulating such an expression, I suspect your are also very able to scour the research litterature to find out if the unsung hero who has found a way to express the pressure in some non ideal fluid with 6 virial coefficients, has also provided a short and sweet way to solve for the temperature. (My guess).

To lift any ambiguity in the expression use extra parentheses in your last term:where does the denominator stop?

My suggestion is that you write a program to solve numerically for T or use some powerful software like Mathematica to obtain an analytical solution.

Good luck.

How to find pka value

Hello,
If I guessed right you are talking about the Chemistry notion of the pKa
Let the equilibrium constant be Ka =1.8x10^(-5). Then by definition pKa=-log(Ka) , log in base 10
pKa = - log(1.8x 10^(-5))
First set [MODE] to [COMP] by pressing [MODE] 1.
[LOG] [(] 1.8 [x] [SHIFT] [10 to the x] [(-)] 5 [)] . [(-)]
The [(-)] key is the change sign key : a small - between parentheses. The last [(-)] sign in the expression takes the negative of the whole calculation to obtain the correct value of the pKa.
The value you should find for the above exemple is 4.74

Hope it helps.
