Nowhere do I see a place for directions like how do I change the background coloring. Please advice and I am very green to computers so please explain in English and not computer talk. Thank you.

Check the cable going into the back of your monitor and the cable from your monitor into your computer, one of them is most likely loose.

In your settings menu if your using an android phone go to display settingsLook for the wallpapers and choose the background that you want. Do the same thing on the message option settings so you can change the background.Hope this little info has helped you..have a good day.!!

on the desk top right click go to properties a window will open select: personalise on windows7 (not home starter edition)

1. Open Desktop Background by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Desktop Background.
   

2. Click the picture or color you want for your desktop background.
   

   If the picture you want to use is not in the list of desktop background pictures, click the Picture location down arrow to view other categories, or click Browse to search for the picture on your computer. When you find the picture you want, double-click it. It will become your desktop background and appear in the list of desktop backgrounds.
   Look for pictures in other locations on your computer

3. Under How should the picture be positioned, choose to have the picture fit the screen, tile, or be centered on the screen, and then click OK.
   

Note

If you choose to have a centered picture as your desktop background, you can also have a color background to frame your picture. Under How should the picture be positioned, click Change background color, click a color, and then click OK.

Windows 7 Starter edition comes with one desktop background, which can't be changed or customized. Please see this link for details.

That's your desktop setting which you can change by going to the control panel, desktop, background, and then change the color or put whatever you have for a background. Also note the color and position buttons.

this type of discoloration problem occurs due to magnetic field near by ur monitor may be due to speakers or some other appliances... just keep some distance between them wit the monitor then on the monitor press menu and give degauss once... i am damn sure your problem will be fixed...

Reconnect your cables!  Somehow you don't have red and green in there, just shades of blue, right?  And it doesn't depend on whether you're running a browser or something else?

Make sure everything's tight and if you can (but only if tightening cables didn't work,) check that your computer's putting out a normal signal by testing another monitor with that computer.
