Some of the leds on the printer are dead. I thinik it is a question of a loose connector somewhere inside. Anyone knows how to open the housing in a non-destructive way?

What is the model #. Sounds like your polarity is reversed. Do you know how to check for this.

Below is a link to the service and maintenance guide. This will serve as a reference for disassembly. It is free to use, copy and print. It is in PDF format. I would check the voltage at the tip of the adapter to make sure it is putting out the proper voltage. I have seen plenty if failures with the HP laptops at the DC jack area, in most cases these jacks are connected to the motherboard by a cable and plug, which makes them easier to service than the soldered type. Here is your guide........

SOURCE: Our Phone wiring is underground and the connector
green wires and red wires.......... that is line one. also solid blue and blue with a white stripe is also line one..... so tie the greens and blue w/white stripes together and tape off (if not screwed down to block), and do the same with the red wires tied together with the solid blues.
yellow and black is line two.....and so is solid orange and orange w/white stripe. then just fill in the blanks as stated above.
its simple, think of the wires as speaker wire in a way to simplify what you are looking at. multiple Pairs (+/-) wires color coded. if the wires came off of the screw down posts, just match up the colors like stated above on the posts and screw them back down.

The Power Jack's soldering might have gone loose, that makes this problem. Try contacting near by toshiba service center, and place a repair order and get it fix.
Your DC connector is loose from the system board:
Problem symptoms:
If your laptop is out of warranty, then you can fix the problem by resoldering DC-IN jack on the system board. If it's still under warranty, it would be fixed at no charge to you.
