I have been managing apartment complexes for 3 years and have been troubleshooting washer/dryer problems. This is my best advice: Sounds like its overloaded. Take the comforter out and hang it to dry. Try starting the machine again to drain the water. You might have to manually remove the water. Try washing a medium-sized load to see if it was just over-full or if there are further things happening.
Hi Stv,
There isn't really major problem, but a problem.
You will need to unplugged your unit and take it apart. Are you handy?
If and when the unit is apart look at the motor and the fan exhaust and see if there is a coin or screw is jamming the motor or the fan
while you are in there you may want to clean it up,
That should be the problrm
heatibg elements cycle on and off at regular intervals, due to thermostats that regulate the dryer temp. for functional and safety reasons.if your dryer is a residential unit being used in a commercial setting, chances are its being overloaded...a dryers most basic functions are: 1.heat 2.turn and 3. evacuate moisture. its either overloaded or a venting problem-nothing else
Make sure that the filter and filter compartment are clear/clean, and then locate where the pipe exits the wall. They usually clog right at the vent exit, especially when they have the mesh covering and not a louver.
It is possible that the pipe itself is clogged as well.
This not only prevents proper drying, but is a fire hazzard and can cause problems with the dryer.
It "should" be a problem that the apartment maintenance crew will take care of free of charge.
