SOURCE: WITH AUTOMATIC CUFF BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR GETTING ERROR

Try different locations. The sensor must be over a vain to pick up the pulse. Locate the point on the cuff where the sensor is, and place this over the elbow. That should work. Good luck.

SOURCE: WITH AUTOMATIC CUFF BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR GETTING ERROR

E might represents insufficient inflation for your mom. For automatic inflation monitors usually there is a mechanism to keep inflating the cuff to higher pressures for people with higher BP. Check how is done. In some auto monitors, while cuff is inflated you keep pressing on START button until pressure reaches to some 15 to 20 mmHg higher than the pressure that auto usually stops and displays E.

SOURCE: Omron hem-704C blood pressure monitor show down

If your HEM 704C fell hard, it is probably the pressure transducer that is faulty, broken. To my experience it is cheaper to buy a new one then to have it repaired by a technician

My Blood Pressure comes up with E1 - what does this mean?

An E1 error can mean a number of things depending on the brand of your monitor and the way that you are trying to take your blood pressure. The general reason for E1 errors is to announce for whatever reason that the machine could not get a blood pressure reading.

Some common causes:
You did not let all of the air out of the blood pressure cuff before trying to take your blood pressure. Make sure that there is no air in the cuff by squeezing it or rolling it, prior to use to let out excess air.

Your blood pressure cannot be taken at this time. Sometimes this occurs if you are very nervous, overly excited, or have a fast heart rate. You can try sitting down and relaxing prior to taking your blood pressure.

You are using the wrong size cuff. If you are taking blood pressure on a small child, someone with a tiny arm, or someone with a large arm, the blood pressure cuff might not get an accurate reading. Many blood pressure monitor manufacturer's offer blood pressure cuffs ranging in size from small to extra large, and you should use the cuff that is most appropriate for the size of your arm.

You didn't line up the blood pressure cuff correctly on your arm. You can't just slap the cuff on your arm and expect it to work, it has to be lined up properly. Many companies put an arrow on the cuff to give you an idea with positioning.

You need to try a different spot on your arm. Occasionally some people cannot give a blood pressure reading on their upper arm for a variety of reasons, and you should try getting a reading on your lower arm.

If you are still having trouble with your blood pressure cuff, take your monitor with you to your next doctors appointment so that your doctor can show you how to use the monitor correctly.

Mod hem 704c reads high compared to doctors blood pressure readings

There are many things that can affect the readings. Cuff size is one of the biggest. If the cuff is on the small side it will not read as accurately as a cuff that fits properly. Keeping the cuff at heart level is important as well. Many people have to put the cuff lower on the arm if the cuff is too small and then they don't raise the cuff to heart level. This will give a higher reading. What is most important is to ensure that the readings are consistent. While they may be higher than the doctors office, as long as they are not dangerous, use them as a baseline and monitor fluctuations over time to ensure that your medications are doing their intended work.

When the blood pressure monitor reads E- error. What is the reason? Not keeping the wrist still?

It depends on which E-error you're getting.

EE - indicates several things:
  • Cuff has been placed incorrectly. Always place cuff on wrist 1" above heal of hand.
  • Did you talk or move during measurement?
  • Shaking of the wrist with the cuff ON.
E1 - Air circuit abnormality. Measure again.

E2 - Inflation pressure exceeding 300 mmHg. Switch the unit OFF.Wait 1 minute, then measure again.

E3 - Error determining measurement data. Measure again.

Hope this helped you to determine which Error you're receiving. Please let me know.

Omron- HEM712C- why does the\r\ncuff opens, when trying to take pressure.

It's likely due to either improperly seating the cuff over your arm, or the cuff being sized to small for the circumference of your arm. First make sure that the cuff is set up properly, the "hook" end of the velcro needs to be facing away from your arm. Once you double the cuff back, make sure that it is not so tight as to be cutting off circulation. If this occurs the force of inflation will cause the velcro to separate. It's also possible that the package included to small of a cuff. If so the manufactor has a largercuff here. http://www.omrononlinestore.com/JHI/guid.569520918/~/productID.4509/US/details.html

Readings are too high compared to doctor's readings

There are several reasons for 'too high' readings; the cuff is too small for your arm, the muscles of the arm are not relaxed (squeezes on the blood vessels along with the cuff), arm not elevated to about mid chest level, BP tkaen before 5 minute sit/rest.
You can take your cuff into the doctors office to have it checked by the nurse and compared to theirs, rest 5 minutes ther as well befor taking BP. Their cuff could be too big for you and so would give a false low reading.
If the calibration is off, you will have to return it to the manufacturer - check their web site or call the customer support line.
Congratulations on taking an active role in your health care!
