Tv comes on at 1 am by its self and then shuts off at 6 am? whyy and how I stop it.

You have to specify the brand and model number of the tv. By blinking the led its showing that there i some problem inside the tv circuitry. By the 6 blinks (self diagnosing) its showing which part of the tv have problem. For different manufacturer the the self diagnosis is different. so you have to a add the brand and model number to get the exact solution.

After set shuts off, wait till the fans stop. Then press menu and input at the same time. The set will flash a 2 digit code. count the flashes. it could be a 2-6 or a 3-7 for example. then post that and that tells us where the problem lies.

Once the set shuts down, wait for the unit to stop blinking. Once it stops hold in the input and menu buttons for 5 seconds. The TV will then give you an error code. A 6-1 or a 1-8 error code would indicate a bad Color wheel. Which I think is the problem you have.

Six blinks points to No Horizontal or raster. The uProcessor detects a problem and enters the self test function shutting down the main power supply.

do self check: when it shuts off and power light goes off:

On front of set press and hold both menu and input (device) buttons for at least five seconds and release both buttons.

Power light will blink a two digit error code, like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

run it without the filter with a 1 part vinegar 4 parts water. then try it with a clean or new filter. You may need to run it a few (5-6) times before it stops shutting off by its self.

As a TV tech the simple answer is no! If you were a well qualified electronics tech but just not used to TV's then the answer might be a very weak 'maybe' and that's if you had a TV tech talking you thru the whole process on the phone.

shutdown probs can be the power supply, bad solder joints, or also very likely the high voltage power supply. Meaning the area where the TV generates upwards of 30 thousand volts!! The set has overvoltage protection that makes sure that things don't completely fry, catch on fire etc.

Ya really need special training to avoid getting zapped with tazer like volts or worse! Sorry but safety says better stay out of this one!
