GE washer will NOT spin, but does all other functions.

first pull out the plug
check the filter and drain pipes are not blocked

I have had this problem with two of my previous washers a top loader and front loader.Each time it was a faulty pump that drains the water from the tub after the wash cycle is complete. If the water does not drain from the tub the machine will not go to the spin cycle. Both of my washers were 5 or 6 years old when this occurred. If the washer is only 5 months old it should be under the manufactures warranty. Good Luck.

need to open washer and check the DRAIN MOTOR PUMP , usually gets clogged with lint and debris , usually located at the bottom side , small motor w/ propeller ,where the drain hose is connected, AJ

Probably a bad clutch attached to the motor.

It gets clothes stuck between the drum,(I wish I could have my old top loader back!! This is a pain 2months and I had my first repairman out I bought brand new now we fix it atleast once a week ourselves!!!!!

Sounds like the suspension for the drum is having problems - there are usually springs holding the drum up and acting as shocks - one of the springs may have come off during an unbalanced load.

sounds like a tired washer, it may be cheaper to purchase another for a couple hundred bucks

you both need to have the switch replaced or you can open top of washer and combine the lid switches wires together as a bypass and electrical tape

the lid switches are put in the washers to keep kids from opening the washer machine this is automatic shut down

GE WPXH214ACC Washer drum makes loud noise when spinning sometimes. We've had it since 2005 & never had this happen before. Washer is level, must stop & redistribute clothes to correct. Just started happening now.

Possible your outlet filter is blocked. This requires cleaning depending on your usage. Clean this out and refit. Good luck. Plug off the wall first.
