Value is very subjective, based on its visual and operating condition, its rarity, the accessories included, where it is located, and how many/few of the model were made. Ultimately, it all boils down to what someone is willing to pay. However, history has shown thousands of Singer machines were manufactured and there are still a lot of those available or in existence. Therefore, you can probably search for recently sold or currently listed machines to see their price.

Hiya. I have a very old singer, with the number F2590752. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to find a manual please? Many thanks.

It's not likely you are going to find a manual for a vintage Singer. However, the older Singers didn't change a lot from one model to the next, so you should be able to find information on multiple web sites and videos that would be helpful.

Value and age of Singer Sewing machine?

This may help:

Singer Sewing Machine Company Serial Numbers

If it is the K number, there were 20,000 machines made. So, the likelihood is that there are still a lot of them around. Value is very subjective based on several things including the physical and mechanical condition, accessories included, rarity of the model, etc. FWIW, it seems that the wood cabinets really don't appear to add much, if anything, to the value.

Light dims when you sew

the problem is that the cord that was replaced on it is too light for the sewing machine. some companies sell cords that are made with 18awg wire 18awg wire can only deliver enough electricity to run the motor sapping up all of the power from the light as soon as you push the pedal. you need to get a cord made by singer or rewire your cords with 16awg wire... 16awg wire is the standard wire for all vintage singer sewing machines it keeps the light nice and bright...... hope this helps

What kind of bobbin singer 301 machine use

The Singer 301 uses the same bobbin as the Singer 221 (also known as a Featherweight). Not surprisingly it's called a Class 221/301 bobbin and is Singer part number 45785. If you don't have a Singer dealer or large sewing machine repair shop in your area, I would suggest purchasing from a reputable online seller such as Vintage Sewing or Sewing Machine 221 Sale. Below is a picture of what both the older and newer style of this bobbin looks like. 11da97d.jpg
