SOURCE: Washing machine won't empty water

this can often happen on a top loader if the lid switch is not engaging properly.  The drum usually rotates (slowly at first, then much higher speed as the water is expelled) and, as a safety precaution, there is a locking mechanism for the lid. You will get the same result if you leave the lid open... cycle just pauses at the drain/rinse/spin part of the cycle.
Now, to solve the problem...
First we need to confirm the problem ...put the dial in spin cycle and see if you can open the lid, or if it is locked.  If the lid opens ,then you are probably not engaging the switch that enables the washer to lock the lid ( and turn on the pump).
THe switch is activated by a piece of plastic ( often in the form of a loop) attached to the lid which pokes through a slot in the metal top of the washer. a microswitch is located down in the slot. If part or all of the plastic piece is broken, the switch will not be activated.  If found to be broken, these are available at any appliance parats store, cheaply.
Sometimes the switch mechanism shifts down slightly or the internal workings of the switch wear down to where the plastic piece does not push the switch down far enough to activate.  You can test for this -*USING GREAT CARE*  by inserting a plastic stick or other non-conductive (electrical) material (a popsicle stick or plastic drinking straw works fine) that fits in the slot and can be pushed down an inch or so.  The test would be to put the machine in the spin part of the cycle and, with the lid open, insert the stick/straw down into  the  slot (you may hear a click from the  switch). This should turn on the pump if the problem  was that the switch had not been contacted properly by the plastic part on the lid.  Only do this for a moment as it is not safe to run the washer with the lid open (they lock the lid for a reason :).
If this procedure does start the pump, then you have isolated the problem and need to have the plastic part on the lid press down further into the slot to activate the  switch.   For a $50AU washer , i might try to build up  the plastic part with some tape to penetrate into the slot further (dont put on so much that it doesnt fit in the slot or gets in the way of the locking mechanism).
Alternatively you could replace the switch or plastic part, or both (replacing the switch will require taking off the front panel).

do the tests suggested and get back to me.

there is a pressure stat but these are reliable. a common fault is the wiring loom broken where it goes round the corner at the bottom of the door. take outer door panel off and inspect the wiring loom for breakage

I have Admiral Mega-22 heavy duty 2 speed washer that won't fill up with water.

Question edited for *Admiral.
Question moved from Speed to Admiral Washing Machine Category.

First check the strainers on the hose inlets to the machine. However it is likely to be the Water Inlet Solenoid.

Admiral atw4675yq doesn't dispense warm water

Guest,
So I was lucky enough to buy the extended warranty with your same unit and when I noticed the same issue, I called the technician.
What he tells me is that this time of year, city water is too warm to require the addition of hot (71 degrees as read at the flow). Apparently to meet the Energy Star requirement, the temperatures were lowered from what they used to be.
He suggested that I wait until Dec/Jan until my cold water temp gets into the 60s and then listen for the hot to kick in intermittently.
From what I have read on the web from other customers of various other makes and models, this problem does not seem to be restricted to Admiral.

Hope that helps. Take care and have a good day.

Admiral washing machine keeps filling up and will not stop till I turned my water valves off, and then it will not wash the clothes but will spin them .

The water level sensor is faulty. After the inlet valve is opened the program controller needs the signal fromt he water level sensor. Thi is normally a pressure switch and as the water builds up the tub through a small opening the water flows through a tube to trigger the switch. So find out the pressure switch and replace. Only once the sensor clicks will the program proceed to wash . Otherwise you can spin becasue the water level sensor need not work for spinning as the level is down.

Admiral lnc6760b71 Problems - Strong smell of burning plastic or rubber last week. Now the machine will stop when full of water and not respond. Later it will continue by itself. I took of a small panel...

Same problem, same model admiral. The smell is motor overheating. Once cool enough, it will continue with it's cycle. I took the top off and watched it run. The motor stopped and smoke rose from the motor located at the front right corner. I am scrapping mine and buying another washing machine. This admiral has been trouble since we bought it 5 years ago.
