This fixes almost all the "beans will not feed or beans will not grind" problems caused by coffee bean dust packed in the burrs. Oily beans cause this problem more fequently.
a. Pour all the beans out the top.
b. Open the settings up all the way and see what else can be poured out. Use your shop vacuum to **** grounds out the spout and backward out the bean bin.
c. Pour in some instant rice and start grinding. Reduce the grind to a small setting like six and then open the settings all the way again. (The grinder will not start at a low setting with the rice in it. If you let it stop, open the settings to about 16 before trying to restart.)
d. Pour out the rice and vacuum out the ground rice.
e. Adjust the grinder to your favorite setting and try a coffee grind. Grind until most of the rice dust is expelled (any remaining trace of rice dust will not affect the flavor of the coffee).

I also soaked the removable burr in a descaling solution. Be sure it is dry before grinding.

Try this set grind on coarsest setting, then turn on, it is possible that the grounds chute is blocked. Using a courser grind might force the chute open.

Miele CVA 4085, the grinder is not grinding the beans. It makes the noise but basically water just comes out with very little coffee.

Here are some specific steps you can take to try to repair the grinder issue with your Miele CVA 4085 coffee machine:
  1. Clean the grinder: Remove any coffee grounds that may have accumulated in the grinder mechanism, and clean it thoroughly with a brush or cloth.
  2. Check the grind burrs: Inspect the grind burrs for any signs of wear or damage, such as chips or cracks. If they are worn, they may need to be replaced.
  3. Adjust the grind setting: Make sure that the grind setting is adjusted correctly for your type of coffee beans. If it is set too fine, the grinder may struggle to process the beans.
  4. Check the grinder motor: Make sure that the grinder motor is functioning properly and that it is not overheating. If it is making a strange noise or if it seems to be struggling to turn, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
  5. Reassemble the grinder: Make sure that the grinder mechanism is properly assembled and that all components are securely fastened.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to have a professional service the machine.

Barista burr grinder,

Check the paddle wheel under the lower (conical) burr. You should be able to see vertical paddles that move the ground coffee. If any are broken or missing (very common if you've used rice intead of Grindz to clean the burrs) you need a new paddle wheel, which you can buy from Baratza.

This happened to me this morning. Air blasted it, then cleaned it out w/alcohol which took care of the problem. Coffee apparently had become so compacted around the hammer heads, not allowing any ground coffee through.
