Can you use a eq tape deck ,cd with a sony receiver model str-dh130

The problem with equalizers is they can mess with things like Dolby signals on AV units. The best way yo avoid this is to connect tape decks or CD players to the EQ and then connect the EQ to the tape in socket of the AV unit.

You have to use the TAPE 2 (or monitor) on the receiver. It will take two sets of RCA cables. Both the receiver and the EQ will have an input and an output.

• Run the output/REC (from TAPE 2) to the input on the EQ.
• Then, run the input from the receiver (TAPE 2 again) to the output on the EQ.

The EQ will have another 2 sets of RCA jacks to hook up a second tape deck (because you used the jacks on the receiver for the EQ). You don't have to hook anything to these if you don't want to, or don't have a second tape deck.

The receiver will have a monitor button, which most of the time is labeled as TAPE 2/MONITOR. Select whatever input you want to use (CD, Tuner, Aux, etc.), then press the MONITOR/TAPE 2 button. When that is on, the EQ will be in the audio chain - you'll be able to use the EQ to adjust the sound. If you turn the MONITOR off it will take the EQ out of the audio chain - the EQ settings won't affect the sound.

Keep in mind, the EQ will also have a button to select the TAPE 2 input. If you have a second tape deck hooked up to the EQ, this is how to use it. Make sure that the tape input is off on the EQ, if you aren't listening to that second tape deck.

Equalizers can be hooked up two stereos a few different ways. If your receiver or amplifier has what's called a processor loop that is where you would connect the output of the processor to the input of the DEQ and then the output of the processor loop to the input of the Eq. This would be visible on the back as for RCA jacks either with a selector switch above to determine whether you want to use the loop or not or jumpers that go from one of the RCA's into the other input to output for when you're not using that loop. The other way would be to connect it to the input and output for a cassette deck you would hook it up the same way however that would depend on whether your receiver has a separate tape monitor button. If your receiver let's say is In FM mode and you press tape and it still shows FM on but an indicator for tape Mon comes on as well then it will work OK. But, if you must switch off of FM to put on the tape Mon. You prob won't be able to use an eq with that receiver. Then your only other option would be to put the eq between a source such as CD....etc and the input for that source barring phono.

Well i have a equalizer, some times and just(studio gear) the output from my mixer connected to my equalizer and that output to the monitors., It might be a wrong connection orrrr have you put the equalizer on the receiver input signal, that signal has to be the right impedance and your receiver will propably make the signal linair, so that,s useless

I'm not familiar with your units. The most common set up would be use the "tape monitor loop". Eq out to receiver tape in monitor, Eq in to receiver tape out monitor, then engage receiver "tape monitor" switch on.

you need a empty in/out tape slot (jacks in back of Sony, if tape deck is connected you can use "Y" connectors) connect jacks to EQ tape in & out.... (press EQ button Bypass)

Well, since the EQ-0100 is a stereo analog component you will be able to use it only for stereo analog source material. Of course, once it's inside the av-710, you can manipulate the sound digitally for soundfield and such.

Basically, hook it in like a tape deck, say, in Tape Deck 2's circuit. Then, whenever you want to use it inline with stereo source material just select Tape 2 Monitor and it will be placed inline. Be advised, any digital programming you want to hear will probably be muted if you monitor any tape deck. That's pretty much normal.

You can slave an analog deck off the EQ as it has a Tape Record/Monitor loops of its own and facilities for making the EQ be on the Record OR the Playack side of it.

Normally, the receiver's internal volume, eq or effects controls will not affect the analog loop out to the EQ-100 or attached decks, BUT, this receiver sends processed effects out to Tape Deck 2, if you should desire to record them (page 29 of the manual). Other REC Out jacks pass conventional UNprocessed sound.

I couldn't find the exact instructions for this model but they all work about the same.

Connect the EQ to the Sherwood as if it were a tape deck: EQ's outs connect to receiver's tape ins (play) and EQ's ins connect to receiver's tape outs (record).
Then you hook the tape deck up to the tape ins and outs on the EQ: Tape deck outs connect to EQ's tape ins (play) and tape deck ins connect to EQ's tape outs (record).
This will put the EQ in your receiver's tape loop.
The CD player should be connected to the receiver though the CD in's and out's (or if your Sherwood doesn't have a CD in/out, then use AUX or TAPE2).
To hear the EQed signal with all receiver sources (like the CD player) you'll need to engage the 'Tape Monitor' button or switch which will route the tape loop to the speakers.

Each unit (the EQ and the Processor) should have left/right in/out rca jacks as well as L/R tape in/outs. The EQ or processor use the receiver's tape loop and then provide a tape loop to replace the one they've used on the receiver.

You plug the first unit (let's say the Sound Processor into your receiver/amp as if it were a tape deck (Processor's outs connect to reciever's tape ins (play) while the Processor's ins connect to the receiver's tape outs (record).

Then you chain the EQ off the Processor in the same way (EQ outs connect to Processor's tape ins (play) and EQ ins connect to the Processor's tape outs (record).

Last you connect the tape deck to the EQ as follows. Tape deck outs connect to EQ's tape ins (play) and the tape deck ins connect to the EQ's outs (record).

This will put both the Sound Processor and the EQ in the receiver's tape loop. In order to have all the receiver's source signals routed through them you may have to engage a Tape Monitor switch or button somwhere on your amp which will route the tape loop to your speakers.

Just connect you EQ to your receiver as if it were a tape deck: EQ's outs connect to receiver's tape ins (play) and EQ's ins connect to receiver's tape outs (record).
