When you say you've tried to download the software do you mean the programs from Canon that normally would come with the camera? If you have downloaded that software from Canon and installed it what you should be able to do is to take the USB cord that should have come with the camera; plug one end into the camera (this will be the smaller end), and the larger end will go into one of your USB ports. As soon as the connection is made your computer should load up the utility that you downloaded from Canon. It will then ask you if you want to download some or all of your pics. You would then follow the prompts. You want to make sure that the software from Canon is meant for your Operating Software.

If none of this works please make notes of anything that happens (error messages or anything along those lines) and then post it as a comment to this case. We will carry on from there if need be.

I have a Canon DS6031 camera an I am trying to download my pics from the camera to my computer but I dont have the software for my new computer can you help me in anyway please??

You don't need any additional software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo management program such as Picasa.

Where can I download Canon DS 6031 drive?

Canon has removed the 10D drivers from their web site due to incompatibility with Windows 7 and Windows 10. Your best bet is to purchase a separate CF card reader and use that to download your photos.

Hope that helps,
BAX

I can't download photo's as my computer says i need to get in touch with manufacturer - need a driver

Re-install the camera software and make sure you have admin rights to that directory. The driver should be included into the software and will be installed with it.

I have a canon ds6031 eos 10d. When I turn the camera on the view screen does not show what your pointing at. Is this normal?

Yes, it is normal. This is a reasonably old DSLR, and it's designed for you to look through the viewfinder (it's more accurate anyway as it's looking through the lens). You'll find if you keep one hand under the lens and one hand on the shutter, it'll feel quite comfortable to look through the viewfinder.

You can still view photos you've taken after you've taken them though.

My memory card

If you are downloading them via a printer, make sure the printer (like an epson) is on and ready before you insert the card. More info needed about what you are using to download.
