No picture on my TV/vcr combo when playing VHS tape.

I suspect either the playback head is very dirty and needs cleaning, or it's malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

How do you fix a showy VHS

If you are experiencing issues with a snowy VHS tape, here are some steps you can take to try to fix it:
Clean the VCR heads: Over time, the heads of the VCR may become dirty or clogged with debris, which can cause a snowy picture. Try using a VCR head cleaning tape or a soft, lint-free cloth and rubbing alcohol to gently clean the heads.
Adjust the tracking: Use the VCR's tracking control to adjust the alignment of the tape. This may help improve the picture quality and reduce snowiness.
Replace the VHS tape: If the tape is old or worn, it may be causing the snowy picture. Try using a new or different VHS tape to see if the issue persists.

I have an Emerson DVD VHS combo and when ever I Play a tape I have sound but no picture but If I rewind the movie I can see the picture but when I push play it goes back to a snowy screen How do I fix...

The loss of picture in playback mode is due to a dirty video head or heads. You might be able to solve this problem with a simple head cleaning tape. if not, the video heads will need cleaning manually.
This should me performed by a TV technician as there are some dangerous voltages inside.
if you choose to do the repair yourself, you need to disassemble the unit to reveal the VHS player itself. Inside there is a round shiny video head. This part is at a slight angle and should be. Dont try to adjust it. Take a piece of paper, saturate it with alchahol or acetone and place the paper flat against the side of the video heads. Spin the heads in counterclockwise direction only paying close attention to the small slots near the seam of the two heads, upper and lower cylinder. Carefully wipe clean with cotton swab and let dry a while before using the unit.

Our Sony Video cassette recorder model SLV_N750 won't play??? The tape is going into play, but the reels are not turning. The VCR starts with a snowy picture and guickly stops and won't play?

The problem is the idler assembly or the black square belt that drives it, this will cause the vcr to shutdown preventing tape transport. The vcr will need to be dismantled for repair, I recommend a tv technician to check your machine with an estimate.

We were just watching a vhs movie on our tv/vcr combo unit and the picture went to fuzz however, the sound was still working. any suggestions or are we in need of a new unit.

Some VHS have a tracking button that allows the user to tune to the best signal. Usually that tracking function is used as follows.
While movie is playing on the VHS unit and signal gets fuzzy, press the channel key repeatedly (for example >> to increase the channel number). f after awhile pressing the same channel change button does not find a better picture, you should press the other channel change button (to decrease the channel number <<) to see if the picture improves.

If that does not work, IT DOES NOT MEAN that you tv/vcr combo unit is defective. It could just be the movie. The tape is magnetic and it might have been accidentally demagnetized.

If picture is better with another movie/tape, your unit is definitely OK.

VHS problem, any help?

It sounds to me like you have a problem with the reel sensors not detecting movement of the tape through the VCR. This could also be caused by a defective voltage regulator(s) that powers the sensors. This model was made by symphonic/funai (1-800-242-7158), and it is not likely worth repairing.
