The key reminder (so you don't leave your keys in the ignition by accident). There is a sensor in the lock cylinder that picks up the key. Usually a small two wire plug on the bottom side of the lock cylinder. Unplugging it should disable the sensor.

SOURCE: key in ignition won,t turn 2004 ford escape

several things, does key go in and out easily, turn steering wheel in both directions while turning key. sometimes the steering wheel lock binds the lock cylinder and turning wheel releases the pressure and it will turn. other than that the ignition cylinder is jammed, wet key lightly with lubricant such as wd-40 and a light bit in key hole and try key again, If key is heavily worn out , try a different ignition key as it might not be disengaging all the tumblers in lock, if all this fails you need a new cylinder.

Beeping sound in 2005 nissan murano

Mine did the same thing. I had the battery replaced on the controller.and it still beeped. Then I took my key and put it in the ignition, without turning the key and took it out. Did this like 6 times and the long beep finally stopped.

My 1996 Toyota Vienta won't turnover with the key in ignition. Plenty of electrical power, air con runs as does the lights. Fitted with an immobilizer, wondered if that might have something to do

Check wiring to your starter make sure all the wires are secure. Its mainly sounds like you need a new starter. If you hear it clicking it is likely engaging just not spinning

1996 manual jetta won't start. It won't even crank. There is a whinning noise when I turn the key from the engine but that's it.

Sounds like the starter drive is not fully engaging with the fly wheel... might try to tap firmly on the body of the starter while you turn the key but be careful not to hit the wires... Might get you going enough to get to a garage and have it checked. good luck!

Not the Key but the ignition itself. Replace teh ignition module where the key is inserted to start the vehicle and that should resolve the issue.

These are the items in the starting system to check out:
Ignition switch, Battery cables( even the one off the starter ) neutral safety switch , starter relay. Make sure the battery you have is the correct one for your vehicle. Use owners manual it will tell you cold cranking amps (CCA) your vehicle requires.
I would focus on battery, cables and ignition switch it that order.

Loud Beeping noise when the car is started

If you are using the smart key and you do not have it in the ignition, it will send a signal thru the car speakers to let you know that the keys are not in the ignition(beep, beep, beep, beep), and that they are to far from the sensor. Next time you are driving and the keys are in your pocket, pull them out and wave them around the speedometer. It will notice keys in car and the beeping will go away.
