I have a 2001 ford expediton 4.6 4wd..2 days ago I went to turn off my car and the radio and that beeping sound when the key is in the ignition when the door is open stayed on and wouldnt go off. I turned my radio off hoping it wont kill the battery, but the next morning my car did not want to start. thought it was a dead battery, bought a new battery still didn't turn, then thought it was the starter solenoid cause no noise was coming from there, replaced that..but once we hook up the battery all the lights and radio goes on without the key in the ignition..Could it be that my ignition key needs replacement?

the old keys or another expedition key can be reprogrammed to your vehicle, the only thing is you would have to change the lock cylinder to match the key or swap the ignition from another expedition with that has the key

This seems to be a faulty ground. Start looking in places exposed to the weather. Sometimes you can find a bad ground by checking for warmth at the connection. Be sure everything is turned on. Frankster016
