Gentle dry is usually for extra small loads with delicate items such as silk ect. most clothes are cotton or polyester which just require a normal dry. this also depends on your dryer. refer to your manual on what your gentle dry can handle. if you do not still have your manual if you could provide a model number i could pull up the info for you.

I tried to use my trimmer for the first time this year and it won't start. It beeps and a small puff of smoke came out of the engine

Sounds like it got damp andthe motor brushes a stuck in thir holders take them out and give them a gentle rub with wet and dry paper on all surfaces after drying them gently by putting them on a radiator or similar warm place like an airing cupboard . Also put a roll of wet/dry paper into the brush holder holes so it presses onto the commutator while turning the motor This cleans the commutator If it does not work after replacing the brushes seek help from an appliance expert. Obviously if you can't get to the brushes to start with you need the expert from the start

Is this normal for Miele dishwasher? - some water left below filter and not everything dry after cycle

Plastic items do not get dry because they do not get as hot as glassware. A lot of moisture inside is do to the evaporation of water on the dishes during the dry cycle. Some water remains in the dishwasher because it is impossible to pump all of it out. There is nothing wrong with your dishwasher.

SANYO VIDIO CAMERA SHOWS "DEW" DAMP INDICATOR

Seldom have I seen these go on that it was a "false alarm" - usually there is some kind of dampness inside. Try setting the camera in a MILDLY warm place, opening up any doors/port covers it has. As for a sample of a mildly warm spot, I have used my cable box to dry things out before. It runs around 100 degrees F, not hot enough to damage anything. Note, of course: Never put anything dripping wet on something like that. And make sure you don't cover more than a small percentage of any vent holes on the item supplying the gentle warmth.

The main thing is be PATIENT. Don't expect the problem to be solved in 5 minutes. Put it there in a gently warm spot and check on it in the morning. Once thoroughly dried out, it should stay that way with reasonable care.

Got my cell phone a little wet yesterday with milk. Placed it in rice overnight. Is jumping from taking pics by itself to sometimes calling by itself.

I would let the phone sit in the rice for at lease a day. It sounds like it's still damp. With luck it will be fine, but if you continue to use it while damp it could be damaged. Try a little patience.

How to clean a remote circuit board. Looks like some rust has got onto the board. The remote was working up until a few days ago. If the remote had got wet it would have been some time ago.

Okay well since it is already dry, you should clean off the "rust" or any film left from the dried water. I like to use a Q-Tip and a small amount of rubbing alcohol (isopropyl). I wet the Q-Tip with the rubbing alcohol and slowly and gently clean any film or anything left over from the water. Use only a small amount of alcohol on the tip, and you may need more than 1 q-tip depending on size. Then let the remote dry completely before you go ahead and try it. The alcohol should dry rather quickly but make sure it is dry. Now hopefully the remote hasn't been burnt out from the water, it will work fine.
Good luck!! EJ

My canon multipass 730 indicates wrong cartridge

In this case what i would request u to do is....... Take out both the catridges from the Printer......... Take 2 Paper Towels one should be wet with Luke warm water and the other one should be dry........... Take the Colour catridge first turn it upside down and u will see a small copper plate on the catridge from where the ink comes out....... Place the wet paper towel using ur thumb on the Copper plate and press it a lit bit for 10 Seconds...... Now remove it and see whether u see any ink on the paper towel.......... U should see some ink on it now place the dry paper towel on the ink catridge in the same way........ Now do the same procedure again.......... Do the same procedure twice on the Black Catridge................. Now take the dry paper towel and turn the direction of the cartridge so that u can see a Copper plate on it with small boxes just clean that copper plate with the Dry Paper Towel.......... Know insert both the catridges inside the Printer.................. Now turn on the Printer and chk......... Good Luck

Hoover Floormate H3000-050 power head/taking apart

I didn't find this as difficlut as red devil 6, however, having 2 people helps. Remove the brush assembly using the 2 brush release buttons. Remove the front nozzel by sliding the 2 nozzel release clips away from the unit. Do NOT remove any screws from the underside of the floor mate base.

Before you begin....on the new wheel assembly, locate the "spring loaded lever" that is attached by the 2 brass screws. Notice that it can be pushed to the side and it locks in place. If pushed again it releases. This is important when you go to make sure the wet/dry pick up indicator is working near the last step of the process.

The top grey cover on the base of the unit lifts off accessing the hubs that hold the handle to the base.

To remove the top grey cover, there are 6 clips that you have to move to one side or the other with a narrow flat blade screw driver. All 6 of these clips are accessed from the underside of the base unit. Work gently...red devil 6 was correct, you can break things easily.

GENTLY pry up the top grey cover exposing the 2 black hubs holding the handle to the base. Remove the 4 screws holding the hubs to the base. I found it easier to have the handle in the down position to remove the cover. I found it easier to have the handle up for 2 screws and down for the other 2 screws.

This is where 2 people come in handy. One person (me) holds the handle and base apart while the other person (my wife) installs the wheel assemlby. It is a little tricky to get in place. My wife found it easiest to install the nubs first (yes nubs, like a little axel that holds the wheel assembly to the base) at the back of the wheel assembly, then slip the pin at the front of the wheel assembly into its position (where the old one came from).

Reset handle and hubs into the base and tighten 4 screws.

Before you go any further, make sure your dry/wet pickup indicator works.....The INDICATOR is the thing that has two red spots on it and tells you if you are on wet or dry pickup. GENTLY TRY to work the wet dry pedal with you HAND to see if the indicator swithces between wet and dry easily. If you are not GENTAl and you force it, you WILL BREAK it. If it does EAISLY go back and forth between wet and dry you have to reset the indicator. Push the indicator stem (the stem that sticks down into the base) up through the base and push the spring loaded lever (see before you begin above) assembly on the wheel assembly to the side. Reinstall the indicator stem and make sure the little spring end is positioned over top of the plastic stub. Recheck GENTLY the function of the wet/dry pickup foot pedal, but use your HAND.

Finally, reinstall top grey cover. It's a little tricky but we found it helpful to have the handle in the down position. Make sure it snaps back into place.

You did it!.

This took my wife and I about 45 minutes to 1 hour....but at least half of the time was spent going slow to ensure I didn't break anything else.

Good luck.
