SOURCE: Olympus Foot Pedal RS25

The RS25 is compatible. The problem is the driver is not installed automatically. It can be found in the tools folder on the CD.

I have an Olympus AS 4000 that worked perfectly until recently, now I can't use the foot pedal. I replaced it with a new one but it doesn't work either.

Hello,
Check the version of your software by clicking on Help, then About Transcription module. If below 4.10, the new RS27 Olympus foot pedal will not work. You will need to update your software. The update is available on the Olympus web site. Use the bottom one, 4.10.3

How to run AS-2300 software on Windows 7 Premium edition 64 Bit. Includes also foot padle.

The AS2300 foot pedal RS23 or RS25 are not compatible with 64 bit operating systems. You will need an RS27 pedal, available at http://www.dictationmall.com/147-035.html

Also the software is not supported on windows 7. You can get a free upgrade to the latest version, dss player standard, here. http://olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/software_results.asp?id=1219&os=w

If you have version 6, you need to upgrade to version 7 first. Once at version 7, you can then upgrade to player Standard.

RS-25 foot pedal not working

The foot pedal needs to be plugged in before the software is installed. Just uninstall the software (your files will be fine) and reinstall with foot pedal attached.

Olympus AS-2000 Dictation Kit - Foot switch doesn't work on Vista

HTML clipboard Olympus AS-2000 is not Vista compatible, you need to upgrade your software, I am not sure which version you have, but I think its version 6 ? You need to upgrade your software from version 6 to 7 (free) and then from version 7 to Standard (also free ) . check your foot pedal if it's RS-23 ( check the back of it ) then you need a new foot pedal ( RS-25 or RS-27 ) , if you have the RS-25 or RS27 you are ok .

Dictaphone foot pedal

It would be easier/cheaper to buy another foot pedal.
The older style had "leaf" switches in them and they are adjustable from below the foot control. There are 2 screws underneath each switch. Loosen up the one closer to the front of the pedal (just a little) and tighten the one in the back the same amount. This will raise the angle of the switch to make it more sensitive (lighter pressure to activate).

Foot switch will not respond.

The answer is all in the serial number you use to install the DSS player!

Look carefully and you will see the recorder disk has in my case an [E] printed above the install serial number and the transcription pedal has [T]

Install the same disk with the E the driver is there, the control in Control Panel is there, but the foot switch does not work with the software. Put in the serial number with the [T] and foot switch works first time!

If you uninstall the play and then reinstall with the [T] serial number you do not need to reboot or even unplug the foot switch from the USB.
