I know that this sounds simple, but have you turned off the printer and back on?

You can go to HP's solution center and download a utility that will upgrade the "firmware" of the printer. If the upgraded firmware does nothing to fix it, it is e-waste.

Prints jibberish

Hi Anna,

This is because of corrupted Printer Drivers. You have to uninstall and reinstall your Printer Drivers. Either from the Printer disk or from www.hp.com website.

725 printer prints constanty on its own when not called for

If it's printing jibberish or "ASCII Garbage" then you probably have the wrong print driver installed.
Uninstall the print driver, disconnect the printer, reboot and reinstall the driver plugging the printer back into the PC when the installation software prompts you to.

I installed my printer software and it when I try to print it prints jibberish at the top of the page then multiple blank pages agin and again.

Make sure that the drivers are not outdated, corrupt, or incompatible, resulting in disrupting the communication between the printer and the computer.
Always make sure that you are making use of the most recent and latest device drivers, and also that are compatible with your system requirements and specifications, as this can be extremely useful in resolving printer issues.

HP Photosmart c4280 Unwanted Output

I know that it sounds simple. But have you turned the printer off and back on. I have had a LOT of HPs start printing jibberish, and turning them off and back on is the only thing to fix.
I know it sounds like an obvious thing to try, and I don't mean to insult anyone's intelligence. But you'd be surprised how many people don't try that. They reinstall their driver, and reboot their computer, but never turn the printer off and back on.

Printing jibberish!

Delete the printer icon. Restart your PC. Reinstall the printer driver. If that doesn't work, your printer cable may be faulty.
