Replace the toner cartridge with a brand new one. There's no such thing as refilling toner cartridges. When it's empty, the drum unit is finished and it should be replaced, not refilled. Remember that the drum unit is sensitive to light, and will also be damaged if exposed to a great amount of light over a perid.
If a new cartridge does not solve your problem, remove the cartridge and check out the charge roller. It's located in the upper part of the "cartridge-room". It's a grey roller. lower the front cover the get easy access to it.
If it looks nice and clean, just leave it. If it is dirty and smutsy, you should remove it and try to clean it with hot water. If it is damaged in any way, it should be replaced.
Still problems ?
Check out the fixing unit. Remove the fixing unit and look at the the big rollers that put out the paper. If they look nice, put the fixing unit back in. If they are burned and dirty, replace the fixing unit.
Wow, nice "solution," Printech. That is BS. There has to be a way to trick this printer into using refilled ink. If not, why would they sell refilled ink kits for this printer? Cut the **** and give us a SOLUTION. I refuse to pay $30 for a "certified Lexmark" cartridge when I can spend $15 for a refilled one.
1. Check the toner cartridge and be sure nothing is blocking the ink flow.
2. The drum cartrudge may also have something on it blocking the laser light from getting to it.
3. There may be something in the laser window blocking part of the light path.
4 Something in the scanner blocking the image.
5. A defective scanner, yes even if new.
Unless the ink roller that you installed was dried out, usually, the replacement rollers just snap in place and are good to go. Check to make sure there is ink on the roller by either pulling the ink roller out again, and touching it with your finger. If no ink on your finger, you might have received a dried out replacement roller. Also the roller should be somewhat like a sponge. If you push against the sponge and it doesnt spring back and it stays indented, then the roller might also be bad. If you happen to have a bottle of ink for an ink pad, you can try soaking the roller with the ink so the roller is wet, (but not DRIPPING WET) and try it again in the calculator. IF you get some image for a little while, then I would say try a new fresh ink roller.
Hope this helps.
