Can you check the connection to the CCD on the scanner lamp? The doc feeder comes off by lifting it upwards whilst wiggling it. Then unscrew the lid. Make sure it is unplugged when you are doing this. There are high voltages within the scanner lamp unit.
Check the cartridges. Remove the cartridges and re insert it. sometimes bad contacts can causes such problems.
