I have had this notebook since December with no problems like this. Came with Vista, have since installed XP Pro. Problem did not start with Xp installation. For the past few days, whenever I put the computer in standby, by either inactivity or closing the lid, when I bring it back again, the system will freeze. However, It only seems to happen when I use the internet. Windows explorer works fine, I can browse folders and anything else, until I need the internet. It will load, and *maybe* do one action, after that it locks in "Not Responding" and the entire computer follows suit. Task manager can be brought up, but no matter how many times I kill the process it just sits there. The only folder that seems to have a problem coming out of standby is the Control Panel folder. Holding the power button causes restart as normal, and it starts up again perfectly fine with no problems.
XP3, and I don't use IE ever, however I believe it is IE7 currently, since I refuse to install anything having to do with that awful program. I used Firefox 3.5, and have recently switched to google chrome. Same problem, so it isn't the browser as far as I can tell. I imagine a drive problem, but can't find the right one.XP3, and I don't use IE ever, however I believe it is IE7 currently, since I refuse to install anything having to do with that awful program.

I just recently formatted and reinstalled with XP Pro, and it has been happening since I installed, so there is no safe restore point to back up to. No hardware conflicts in device manager either.I just recently formatted and reinstalled with XP Pro, and it has been happening since I installed, so there is no safe restore point to back up to. Harry.. it being an Acer, I do not believe it allows me to get into advanced. For some reason they think we are all idiots. No key combo works in bios to bring up the advanced settings. What Service Pack do you have for XP? What version of Internet Explorer are you using? What Service Pack do you have for XP? What version of Internet Explorer are you using?
Hello, Have you tried to use system restore and go back to a date prior to the when you started having problems? Sounds like a driver problem or hardware conflict somewhere. Have you checked device manager for hardware conflicts? If you need help with either of these let me know.Hello, Have you tried to use system restore and go back to a date prior to the when you started having problems? Another option, because your notebook's built-in wifi hardware is provided by Intel, is to head to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html using the notebook, and install and run Intel's Driver And Support Assistant (Intel DSA) which should then advise you what Intel drivers are needed for your Aspire 6930.
You didn't list an operating system but as I have a 6930 with Vista, I can give you what I know based on mine. If you go to Control Panel - Bluetooth Devices, you will find options to add bluetooth devices and a settings button for devices you have added. However, the 6930 does not come with bluetooth built-in, just the capability to turn it on and off. If your mouse did not come with a bluetooth adapter for the computer, you'll have to get one separately to use your mouse.
