Turn it on and get sound and Philips logo. Why does it then go to black screen?

SOURCE: Philips 46PFL5706/F7 46 LCD TV. When you turn it on you have power. The Philips logo appears for a second then goes away. Screen is black after that.

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.

You need contact anyone from Philips Support using their HOTLINE since as per your description the TV is already defective and check whether it is still under warranty if not you'll need to pay for repair cost.

No picture only sound.

And if not the LED panel lights it is the board that powers the lights or the inverter board.

The standby power supply resistors on the inverter board have changed values. You will replace resistors R1217, (820K 1/4 watt), R1218,(820K 1/4 watt) and R1219 (390K 1/4 watt).
