First you need to enable the 2nd monitor with either FN+F# key combination. OR enable it from your display settings.

Right click on your desktop and select properties or personalize
Then either open display settings if your on vista or on xp open the last tab that says "settings"

You should see #1, that is your laptop display, #2 is external monitor, right click on number two and select ATTACH, then you can adjust the resolution from the settings below, when done click apply.

You should have picture on the projector, To move files and programs to the projector display simply drag them out from the right corner of your main display and they appear on the projector display.

Press Fn key 2 times set display property screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
