I had a similar problem. I even contacted HP but they did not help. Eventually, I soaked my black ink cartidge in the cleaning fluid overnight and eventually it started to work again.

Seems that your black ink cartridge is damaged, try it in another printer of the same type to see if it works, or replace it with a new one.

The green light is blinking constantly and the printer won't print

Often happens HP cartridges to overheat. In that case the printer not recognize it and the green lamp blinking constantly. In most case only one of both cartridges defective and need to be replaced. But how to know which one?
Here's how: Open cover, put out color cartridge then close cover. If blinking stops replace color cartridge. If blinking continues put out black cartridge and put in color. If blinking stops replace black cartridge, if not stop replace both cartridges.

I have a HP Deskjet D4260 and when i print something using HP Deskjet D4200 series its black and white. I need the pictures to be in color

U must be using HP74, 75 cartridge for your printer.

There are few reasons you are getting black and white (gray)...for printing job.

1. No color ink.
- If you are out of color ink.. that's what it happens.
- check your ink level through control panel.

2. Printer set up. (I think this is pretty much the reason you are not getting color)
- First, check your printer setting.
If they are on gray scale mode, pls chang to color.
How? when you click the print (through file manu), there are option for control panel on your screen. Click that option and will see some detail option you can choose from size, print quality.
Among the print quality option, pls choose, color mode instead of gray mode. That's it.

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".
Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.
For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video.
And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

I am printing exterior photos of a buildiing on regular paper for test only. The color is printing out with a green tinge. What is happening?

Not using genuine HP cartridges could be one reason. Low ink cartridges could cause not enough ink to be used to make a certain shade of gray or black and thus causing the green tinge. Also if you are selecting photo quality printing then you need to use photo paper. The printer drivers tell the printer different commands depending on what kind of paper you tell it you are using. Good luck!

The printer's black ink cartridge won't print without the Tri-color print cartridge

Most of the HP printers are designed to allow printing onlywhen all cartridges are installed and
have ink.
Install a new tri-color ink cartridge and printing will continue as usual.
My printer, which is HP, does the same thing as yours, until I replace the empty cartridge,
printing stops.

My deskjet 3745 wii not print with new ink. The cartridge shows full and the printer goes thru all the motions. The final print is no color and light black

Use the HP software (installed when you installed the printer) to run a "print-head-cleaning" cycle -- you've got lots of ink, but the print-heads are CLOGGED.

Hp printer 3745 is printing in green only.

Hi,
Uninstall your printer software and install it again and try to print again. It should work.. because your printer setting seems to be messed up. If it still does not work then it is recommended that you change your ink cartridge
Have a nice day!
