It hasn't been deactivated, he can phone other people but can take 3 or more goes before he gets through to me when he tries to call others it works fine

Check the number he has for YOU in his phone. It may be that the carrier thinks that the number he is dialing is deactivated and can only make SOS calls. That is the only thing I can think of.

Cell phones that have been deactivated are able to make emergency (911/SOS) calls only. The phone will need to be reactivated to be used normally. Check with the cellular carrier.

My cell phone says SIM Blocked Call SOS

Hello,

Thanks for your question, the call sos message is just to let you know that you can still call the 911 or sos number for your country.

as for your sim being blocked, try another sim card on the phone to confirm that the phone is OK - most likely you have not paid your bills on time, please call the service provider or carrier to find out what the actual problem is.

Theres two possible reasons I can think of:

1. account closed, or similar.

2. you have entered the pin code wrong 3 times, and the sim pin is blocked, and you would need to enter a puk code, or you may have entered the puk code incorrectly too many times and the sim card is now blocked.

in both cases call your service provider for assistance, if its a prepaid card, get another one.

Best wishes,
Ekse

My sim card is saying SIM unavailable contact your service provider SOS / CALL

Hello

The best thing to do is to contact your service provider.

Your service provider will rectify the problem and if possible change the sim card and get you a new sim card.

Take care.

Phone turns off when Calling out.

There is another way.

Your dad's N96,restarts because of some files is the phone is corrupted and it needs to be formated through software. it might be from images, videos, audios, especially downloads from the internet can cause does damages..

Take it to a repairer to format and restore the memory of the phone and your dad can enjoy his fun again.take care.

I can't connect to my Dad

Joe,

Please have your dad check his installation, does he has a fax machine or modem that is also connected to the same phone line. Have him check the connection to the Beamer unit, "line-in" has to connect and be the first device to the wall jack and "phone in" connected to the phone set he used to initiate or receive the video call. If this does not solve the problem, please email your phone number to [email protected] for help.
